Is it just me or does anyone else notice that Sheed is absolutely useless on the defensive side of the ball.  When we signed him, all I heard was that he was such a wonderful defensive player who barked out instructions and what have you.  But, the more and more that I watch of him, the more that I come to the conclusion that he is absolutely horrible on defense.  There is absolutely no effort on his part to find his man and/or box out his man.  Moreover, when faced with an oncoming offesive player, he makes absolutely no attempt to block the shot but rather just hammers the guy and raises his hand to acknowledge the foul.

Now, I'll admit that I thought that he was a great pickup in the offseason but his general ambivalence on both sides of the ball is maddening to me.  And, his lack of defense is the most frustrating to me.  I can't help but wonder is his general ambivalence has infected the rest of the team.

Lazy lazy lazy.  He puts the effort in only when his own guy is about to receive a pass or after he catches it.  He doesn't help out on rotations at all.  Sometimes he just stands there and watches people go for layups.  And the lack of rebounding and boxing out as you said is ridiculous.  Sometimes he just stands and watches little guys get rebounds and score within his area without even flinching.  That stuff is even more frustrating than his shot selection.
It kind of sucks because we don't have a single athletic big guy, and it's going to be tough to match up against teams for entire games.  I was so jealous of Cleveland having Varajeo and Hickson off the bench.  We don't have anyone like that.  Wallace is lazy and unathletic, KG is old and hurt, Davis is short and can't jump.  Perk is the closest thing we have, and he's not particularly athletic.  Varajeo was coming out of nowhere and taking rebounds from under our noses.
