Capologists: do we have the space to sign Nate?  He's been tentative thus far.  But when he plays the way he's capable of, he'll really help our second unit.  We need an athletic, dynamic guard to spell Rondo: someone who can get into the paint and create shots.  Nate fits that bill.

I really hope we re-sign him.

He was looking nice, not ever afraid to shoot.  I woulda liked to have seen more of him in the 4th.  Everyone got in a funk, and KG just generally can't get his own offense anymore.

Why would you want to?

Just asking.

He's going to command more money then we want to give him.  Also I think over the rest of the season we'll see that him and Rondo do not play well together as both really need the ball to be successful with that being the case he really won't have a spot on the team.

Because if we don't re-sign him then we will only have the Vet Minimum to sign a replacement. That is assuming we spend our MLE on our greater need of a wing (Mike Miller?).

I think you can give him a 10 or 20% raise on top of what he is making this year. I think that will be enough to keep him.

I think there are guys out there we might be able to get for the vet minimum that could be a solid back up point.  Anthony Carter from Denver would be one of them.  I can't imagine they'd feel the need to resign him as they have Lawson there now.  I'd have no issue bringing him in to be Rondo's back up.  Another possibility would be Jamaal Tinsley, he hasn't been playing too spectacular to earn a bigger paycheck next year.  Kevin Ollie is another guy who's not a bad player, is a veteran presence and a pass first guy.  If we had to give him a 10 or 20% raise, that's giving him 4.4 to 4.8 mil.  That's an awful lot to pay for a backup point guard.

Exactly. We can hive him a 20% contract spike without even toughing our MLE. Although, I doubt the 20% will even be needed to re-sign him. That's probably another reason we made the  Nate deal. If we stayed with House then we would have risked him leaving for nothing if another team would've offered a multi-yr deal. I don't think we would've given him anything other than a 1 yr contract, if that.
