I can't wait til Sheed has to sit out a playoff game because he is immature, always runs his mouth, and only cares about Sheed. Although, for the way he has played for most of the season, him sitting out a playoff game might be a blessing in disguise.

That was the #1 thing i said worried me in the begining when he was signed come playoff time with Sheed...just hope he doesn't make my worries about him come true.tp

Rasheed doesnt suck, you will love him when it counts most. Playoff Time, regular season bores these veterans who are playing only for championships.
He must have been "bored" with the Pistons all those years when they didn't turn it on in the playoffs.

You mean the season after season they would make it to the East final?   Or the year they won a title?   Those under performers!

I am waiting to the playoffs before I pass any judgment on this signing.
I sort of feel the same way, wasn't totally aganist the signing but wasn't 100% onboard either..im trying to be fair and unbiased about how i judge his overall performance for the season.

I think the Pistons in their 6 straight Eastern finals ... couple of times weren't talented enough ... but against Miami and Cleveland, there were distinct lapses in concentration, I think a lot of times those guys felt like they were entitled because of "DEEE-TROIT BASKETBALL"

I thought a change of scenery would get Sheed excited about playing again - but his mental energy has been ... well, not good.

People forget how good Miami was those first two years with Shaq. If Dwayne Wade doesn't get hurt in the first year they could have been to back to back Finals.

I'm surprised people don't throw the "ball don't lie" back in face whenever he misses his free throws.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Anyone notice that the run the Balzers went on last night was right when Mr. Technical Foul came in for KG?

The technicals restart in the playoffs so he will have to get 7 before he is suspended a playoff game.

Assuming we play 5/6 games in the first round, and then 7 in the second at the least.

Thats 12-13 games to pull it off. I have faith in Sheed  :P.

I watch every Celtic game! With that said, I have never heard Rasheed say Ball Dont Lie 5 times in one game as loud as he can say it. Maybe he is mic'd cp tonight being back in Portland. But he makes me laugh everytime he says it knowing it has to irritate the referees. Rasheed is certified crazy!

So true. They could have won two in a row.

Maybe - but then the season after their title, the Heat lost by 43 to the bulls the night they raised the banner in 2006 ... I know, just one game, but good teams don't lose at home by 40 to ANYBODY

I think people forget or don't appreciate what a stunning upset their title was.  Dallas was so much better on paper and the first two games - but just completely fell apart down the stretch.  Fell into whining about the refs - who obviously were awful, but still.

Different year, different team.

Shaq broke down and so did Wade. Several key players of that team were also very gold. (Gary Payton, Antoine Walker, Jason Williams)

They won 59 games, and had a lead in game 7 of the ECF. That's with a hobbled Wade for those last two games. They had the 6th best defense, and the 5th best offense in the league.

Only won 52 games, they had the 9th best defense and 7th best offense. Their team the previous year was much better, but Wade was healthy and hot in the playoffs. Dallas was the better team this year, but it wasn't that far apart.

Look at the roster though, very old. No surprise they broke down after they won it all.

They were old - and you're points are good.  I just look at Dallas winning two series against San Antonio (Game 7 in SA) and dusting Phoenix ... with Miami squeezing out a win over a team notorious for mailing in games from time to time (those Pistons teams after they won the title).  Their title paths in terms of quality did not compare - but Miami got the wins and Dallas' resolve started to die.

I just couldn't pick that Miami team in a best of 7 over any other team that won a title in the previous decade.  Maybe even the 90s, but I need to look harder there - though perhaps going back to the 1994 Rockets would be the right analog.

Yeah I agree that Miami team was the weakest since the Spurs first title. But the Miami team the year before?  I think that team if healthy could have played with anyone.
