I was always confident, even during out worst stretches and losses in January and early February.
Sure, I had doubts too, but I knew this team's problem was mental for the most part, and the last two games have shown that, while the collapses of the second half are still here, the team fought till the end and managed to get the win. It was ugly but the only thing that matters is that they got the win at the end, and that's huge for their confidence going forward, hopefully they will build on that (and I think they will).
Also, I think that, although we had "collapses" in both games, people tend to consider that we were due to win both games against the Kings and L.A. That's not true : Sacramento is a young and athletic team, with plenty of energy and some swagger, that is tough to play in Sacramento. They lost against L.A and Cleveland in OT, and they lost in L.A another time on a Kobe's buzzer (they played these 4 games without Martin) so they are not a scrappy team, they are much better than their record, so it definitely was a tough game in Sacto, especially just after the break.
And the Lakers were playing without Kobe, sure, but they have played better without him than with him actually, blowing out the Spurs in L.A and then blowing out the Jazz in Utah when the Jazz was on something like 9 straight wins.
Sure, Kobe would have made a difference in that game but it's no surprise that it was still a close game.
What I'm saying is that these two wins were huge because they were expected to be hard games, and you need to win this kind of "dog" games to build some confidence and swagger back in your team.
