The lost to the Hawks was clearly not Doc's fault. I've been criticizing Doc's coaching for quite some time, and I pretty much know when he's @ fault. TH e two losses the Celtics suffered are based on these reasons...
#1 = Lack of Depth: The C's do not have the right bench players to compliment the starters. Rasheed fits well (although his 3 point shots don't fall, its rare that he takes a bad shot), Glen Davis fits well (he needs more touches), and Tony Allen fits well (as the back-up 3 small forward). Our problem is with the 2 guards spot. Eddie House is no Rondo (he can;t dribble, penetrate, create for others or himself, he's only effective off the ball when a play is called). Ray Allen is no Rondo (he can;t dribble, he's reluctant to penetrate, and he can't create for others or himself, he's only effective off the ball when a play is called). So Doc then puts Pierce in to do the job. What happens is Pierce (very slow dribbler, doesn't have nearly the speed nor quickness like Rondo) is then Double teamed resulting in bad passes, or stripping of the ball. We'll be fine when the back-up point guard spot is addressed (in trade or free agency).
2# = Rondo's tendencies, and reluctance: He's way too tentative on the offensive end. At his own will he could beat his defender 99% of the time to the basket and score, but he has a reluctance to do so. He's too tentative when open for a shot. Although a pass isn't there, he still tries to force one while he's wide opened for his own shot. Rondo makes this team go, if he's not moving the Celtics are standing still...
