Trade Idea: Talent from Washington

I find myself continuing to sniff around the financially and / or competitively compromised teams for bargain deals for the Cs.

First off ~~ I know there will be a negative reaction to this idea: Andray Blatche. I even tried to disguise the title of the thread to encourage thoughtful consideration before rejection. 

Considering Washington’s dirty laundry you have to suspect they’re locker room is one of the worst environments in sports, which bodes terribly for the likes of Blatche, McGee, Nick Young and obviously Crittenton. How are they to mature personally and professionally under the influence of Arenas and Stevenson? With the trade deadline approaching, I wonder what folks think of Blatche’s ability to grow up and fulfill his potential on a veteran team like the Cs.

Note the article below from 2007 for two reasons, 1) his obvious problems with attitude and finding trouble, and 2) the fact that he specifically looks up to Kevin Garnett, and needs a stronger environment:

Despite his unique talent, his value (not to mention his teams bargaining position) are probably at a long-term low. He was just suspended a game for conduct detrimental to the team due to a beef over treatment and shots.

Per the Post again: "After the loss on Sunday, head athletic trainer Eric Waters approached Blatche and asked him to head to the training room to check on his knee. Blatche angrily responded, 'Do I look like I care about my knee?' Blatche said he had complained about soreness in his left knee for almost a week and had never been offered treatment until he was dressed and ready to leave. 'I'm always the guy they want to make an example of,' he said.""

Let’s say the deal for him was Scal and a 1st round pick. Would you do it? IF he could mature, he’s a helluva a talent that would be a good fit on the floor with this team.

I'm not sold but am interested to hear folks thoughts.

tempting talent.  possible headcase though.

dump Scal for him, no problem.  hate to see Danny lose out on a pick even if it's at the end of the 1st round.

Blatche wouldn't get any minutes here. He's not good enough to take any minutes away from Sheed or Davis due to his lack of defense + lack of physicality in the paint + poor decision making offensively.

Assuming everyone is healthy (which I don’t and won’t) his minutes will be limited but not nil. There have been minutes for Sheldon Williams on this team – there’s room for Blatche to grow into a meaningful role this year and beyond. That’s really the least of my concerns, considering he’s under contract for 2 more years on the cheap.

I'd like to see a larger role on the court if it's going to cost a first round pick.

Or, more convinced that Blatche will fulfill some of that potential down the road.

i hear you, Who. he's clearly got the talent to be worth a late first. and he's still very young despite a number of years in the league(ala perk).

i'd be tempted to see what clifford ray and KG could do with him considering his physical ability and flashes of brilliance.
