After todays absolutly stunning Wildcard games me and a friend sat absolutly exhausted with sore throats and talking about the results.

When one of us remembered a Bill Simmons article (no love and or hate for him in my household)

It's basicly Bill Simmons trying to do a indepth analasis of how each wildcard game should end (who should win) and basicly goes 0-4 in his picks.

Hillarious in my opinon.

Bill Simmons is ok when he is doing his whole "voice of the common fan" thing. He is absolutely awful when he tries to sound like an expert. He badly misunderstands statistics, often admits to not watching the games, etc.

And what is worse, since he has decided to be a sort of self proclaimed NBA expert, he has been needlessly dumping on the celtics to try to establish some sort of "objective" cred.

There is a reason why he lost to his wife in the whole pick'em thing two seasons in a row.

Well Simmons was on the same side as Joe Public so it's no surprise he went 0-4.  There is a reason Vegas makes money, and it's because the majority is usually wrong.

Yeah I would imagine if you took everyone's picks from this blog, 90% of us would have been wrong.  I definitely would have at least.
do it

Yea, you have to sniff that something is wrong when the Bengals are only 2.5 pt favs at home. I never make a wager without looking at the consensus first. Unless I see that the Celtics are 90:1 to win the title and I know they're getting Garnett the next day. (srry to bring this up again, but it's a great moment)
