Wow! I was going to add to this thread with my two-cent's worth about Perks MANY obvious skills and abilities, but from what I see, it's all been said. Thanks! (Less typing) ;)

KungPoweChicken, I share the same observations you had on Perk. He really lacks skills for a pseudocenter that everyone wants to project on him. A few weeks back, I offered almost the same arguments because I wanted him traded (never mind who the player is because you more than had made your arguments on why we share the same disenchantment and disappointment on Perk's game). At best his skills can only be that of a power forward and not your regular center. A 6'10" center that was really dominant in the paint was Moses Malone. Perk does not have the same skills set obviously but what really bothers me when Perk plays is his propensity in committing a lot of hesitancy when attacking the rim. He makes a lot of moves that delays his shot (ie taking extra dribble when he is near the rim, or taking extra step for the same move, or laying it up instead of coming up with a throw down, or can't do baby hook consistently). He can't elevate his level of skills farther and, to me, his skills has maxed out. Sure he is young and bullstrong which is why he can consistently bring the same performances night after night because he has a big storeroom of energy and for the same reason he can man up Dwight H in a 7-game series and series after series.
And yes, I agree that he seldom has tip-ins which is one hallmark for a big man mixing it up with the opposing bigs. Big Ben does that a lot of times and he even slams the ball just to display his assertion and confidence. Obviously he lacks the ability to elevate further in the air.
Of course, I will still keep Perk in the team because he really can help but not on what we expect him to be.
