This has been around for awhile - it's why some sports pundits were predicting they'd start 20-1 (yeah not so much).  Just means 37 of their last 61 games will be on the road.  Fine with me.

35, really, since 2 are "away" games at home against the Clippers.
Celtics fan for life.

Anyone been following the Lakers schedule?  They've played 19 games so far and 15 have been at home. Amazing schedule. I don't know if that is good for them or bad. But it seems to me that they come back down to earth a bit once they begin leaving town. I mean they've played most of the first six weeks of the season in L.A. - not a bad gig for them.

just an interesting point, at this point in the season, the lakers have played 15 games at home (13-2) and 4 on the road (3-1).

The celtics have played 11 at home (8-3) and 10 on the road (9-1)

the magic have played 9 at home (7-2) and 12 on the road (10-2)

I realize the lakers have a big road trip ahead of them, (5 out of the next 6), but this seems somewhat unfair to me. I know it all evens out by the end of hte season, but i think there is something to be said for a home-heavy early part of the season to help good teams get strong momentum early, and have that home success carry them through the season.

the discrepancy between the celts/magic and the lakers schedule is not much (only about 5 games either way) but this early in the season that is a big difference.

this is really much ado about nothing. the main reasons are simple really.  with out going into too much detail...

- the Lakers share their stadium with the Clippers and also the Los Angeles Kings (hockey) which leaves fewer possible days to play home games than Boston for example.

- the Staples Center is also used quite often by other events, such as performances and concert.

- in the spring, the stadium also is host to the PAC-10 tournament and the Grammys. Each occupy Staples for multiple days.

The early season run of home games is simply mostly the product of scheduling restraints.  And as much as you want it to be part of some vast NBA conspiracy against the Celtics, it's simply not so.  It just business.  And to paraphrase what someone said earlier in the thread, everyone plays 41 at home and 41 on the road.

Haha.  But it's the Clippers, it's not like it would make a difference.  ;)  Although in all seriousness, LA teams in general have to deal with many more fans from visiting teams simply because so many people from the colder cities in the country move out to sunny CA.  So let's call it a wash...?
