Sheed about Joey Crawford :
Quote
Rasheed Wallace, who drew a technical in the first half, tried to contain his anger.

“I ain’t got no comment on it because I’m going to [expletive] around and get fined some more,’’ he said. “You saw it for yourself, I am glad I am almost done with this [expletive] man. This is bad for my blood pressure.’’
I was disappointed by Sheed's performance last night (and for the past few games) but I can't say I disagree with him... You can really just hate Crawford.

About Dahntay Jones :
Quote
A conventional Pierce 3-point play drew the Celtics to within 98-95 with 6:02 left, but Jones’s 12 fourth-quarter points ensured a fourth straight Indiana win.

Jones said he was inspired by some first-half trash talk from Garnett and Pierce regarding his erratic shooting.

[...] Last night he missed 5 of 6 shots in the first but finished 7 for 15. Rivers screamed at his team on the sideline to respect the Pacers players not named Granger. His pleas were ignored.

Seriously... what was the point of trash-talking Jones if you let him catch fire in the second half? I'm not against trash-talking but when you do it you're supposed to back your words with ACTION. In this case : Defense!

Anyway, really a terrible game, and it seems more and more obvious than our team really has a behaviour issue. I don't think fatigue was the biggest factor in the loss, but the lack of effort from our guys (except from Ray, Shelden and Marquis).

Yeah, our guys need to get it out of their heads that they are a team that will automatically win on talent alone.

We might not be the defending champs anymore, but teams are still going to give us their best shot every time we face them.  We can't take any game lightly.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

"I know you all wanna win, but you gotta do it TOGETHER!"
- Doc Rivers

haha, behavior issue sounds funny but its kind of true.  I've been sick of Sheed's act for years.  The refs aren't perfect, they blow calls.  How about getting a rebound instead of acting like a baby.

I'm not so big on Sheed so far this year either, but I don't think he's mad about Crawford's calls so much as his tendency to bait players and then T them up for the sake of his own ego.  Perk has a much better case on being unfairly T'd than Sheed does, but we've seen Crawford pull this crap for years, and so have the players.

I'm sorry, but I thought Sheed's comment was hilarious for no particular reason.

I think, at this point, the team thinks they're better than they are.  I think they have 65-70 win potential, but they seem to think it'll just be given to them - all they have to do is show up and they'll win.  During the championship run, we'd consistently have two of the big 3 on almost every night.  Now, we get one of them.  I'm not sure why or what it means, it's just an observation.

Rondo can't score, the big 3 - even KG - seem to take turns being disinterested, Sheed and E-House couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat right now, and the entire team is just going through the motions on D and the boards.  It seems like Quis and Shelden are consistently the only ones out there busting it.  It's a testament to the ability of this team that they've even been in these last two games at the end, because they don't deserve it.

had to tommy point you for this one. its true The team looks disinterested. Rondo played much better though. he played aggressive, but not too wise. Don't force shots and layups Rondo if its not there on the break, pull out and setup a play.

I think it's one of the most ridiculous things that players can't argue against refs and be fined for it.  Seriously though, how is that legal?  Wouldn't that be violating our first amendment?  I understand the league wants to keep a good image, but speaking out against a ref that is clearly doing a bad job is just horrible, but taking a man's money because of that?!?  Since when does corporations have more power than the government?  Since when does corporation have the right to take away people's rights?  If you look at the big picture, it's just ridiculous.

I see alot of whining on this thread.  "Blame the refs". Come on, let's be real, we have been outhustled and outplayed badly the last two games, one against an under rated team that is just as talented as us (the Hawks) and the other that is completely undermanned but still spanked us.  The Celtics just figured they won the championship on paper and have been mailing it in, so far.  And paying the price.

How in the heck is Crawford still in the league?!?  He hurts the NBA's image more than he helps.

I COMPLETELY agree! (TP) Joey should never have been let back on the court ... he's got a major attitude problem and an obvious axe to grind with certain players and teams. That kind of subjectivity has no place in officiating, and after the Tim Duncan incident, he should have been retired at this level. (I'd like to use stronger words here, but I'll refrain ;))

Jones made Pierce his B...and yes, I'd tell Paul that to his face because we all saw it.  Stop taking people lightly.

I'm seriously appalled at the lack of smart basketball lately. What happened to the '85 Bears and the high BB IQs on the roster? Really Doc had to remind them to pay attention to the other players? And why of all the players on the roster did it have to be the 2 playing at less than a 100% trash talking Jones?

And I'm with Sheed on this one Crawford is a paranoid megalomaniac. I hope they are sending tapes to the league. The Ts on Perk so far have been idiotic.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Are you kidding me? Every employer has the right to set standards for how employees represent themselves to the public. People get fired for posting crap about their company on the Internet all the time. The NBA has a union, and they agree to certain rules concerning player behavior.
