Bring on Shelden early on instead of Sheed. This Sheed screaming for three only for it to go clink >:( >:( is not what I had in mind with his signing. Shelden grabs boards and score points in very little minutes. K.G. plays 29mins score 15 points and grabs 7 rebounds. Shelden plays 18mins scores 10 points and grabs 9 rebounds... :( Smh. I know you guys disagree whenever I post a thread like "WE WANT POSEY" :D, but its true. We need a Posey back. A consistent 3 point shooter, that could defend as well as rebound. The celts have never looked the same since the Posey departure. He's now on the trading block and so are the rest of the hornets...lol ;D LET'S MAKE A TRADE. This team will not win a championship with this current inconsistent roster. ::)

Shelden does as well as he does in large part because he plays against 2nd units.  I doubt he'd average a double double in limited minutes playing against starters - which he'd do if we put him out there as our 6th man.

Also, Shelden benefits from the floor-spacing that Sheed creates when he's on the floor.

That said, I wish Sheed would stop bombing it from 3 so much.  I love that Sheed can space the floor, but I wish he could put more effort into playing all over the floor, not just behind the arc.

Not to be a killjoy, but let's wait until the end of the season to make this kind of call ... it's way too early to be picking MVP's and Sixth Man Awards ... far too many if's and things that can happen. I love what I've seen of Shelden so far, but he's got a long way to go to prove he can play this well on a consistent basis. ;)

Shelden is more valuable to our team so far than Marquis Daniels. Not to bash Quis, but that is a fact.

And in next game when Sheed will score 18 pts and will grab some rebounds people will start saying nice things about him again. Please, calm. This is November and we have a very good winning record. Sheed has had some bad games but his game hasn't changed...  ;)

What were you expecting then?

He's a career 34.2 percent three-point shooter whose shot-selection is significantly three-point heavy for a player of his size and position.

That means he is going to shoot a lot from the outside, miss plenty and also hit a pretty reasonable share by the time it's all said and done.

He hasn't had the stroke the last few games - and he had way more of it than could have been reasonably expected for the first few games.  So it goes.

So a career 35% 3pt shooting SF is better then a career 34% 3 pt shooting PF/C who can defend Cs?

Wallace is still the better defender then Williams.  He is also the one that can pull defender outside.

Sheed is definitely more valuable overall than Posey, but I would like to see more rebounding from Sheed. I think Posey is more versatile and possibly less interested in getting his own shot.

Sheed currently is not the rebounder or defender that Shelden Williams is and that is mostly by choice. When he wants to, he is close to being in Garnetts league. He just usually doesnt seem to want it that bad.

I think when it matters most, Sheed will deliver for us defensively. His 3pt shooting percentage and volume are another matter entirely.

Posey is several years older then when we had him and I think is about done as a player.

I wouldn't say Sheed is definitely more valuable than Posey.  In fact Posey did more for us.  And enough of this spacing the floor crap.  If you're playing center/power forward, get a rebound and score in the paint once in a while.

Didn't Posey play PF?  He didn't grab to many rebounds.

How about Davis?  Not exactly a rebounding machine.

Posey was a good rebounder for his position.  Sheed is a poor rebounder for his.

Posey was a 3 who sometimes played 4.  Sheed is a 4/5.

If they were looking for a rebounder, they would not have gone after Wallace.

They wanted the defensive PF that could play C and spread the floor.

The Celtics really need KG to rebound better.  Or they can play Perk closer to 30 minutes.  Or both.

And just so you know, Wallace is rebounding at a higher rate then the Celtics starting PF last year in the playoffs

Glen Davis as a starting PF in the playoffs grabbed 5.6 rebounds a game, playing 36 minutes.
