NBA predictions aside, a lot of people aren't drafting KG with injury concerns. From what i've seen from the preseason so far, I'm actually quite excited. He's great in the second round especially if you want to create an efficiency team (and pair him with a high % low turnover player).

I had the 11th and 14th picks (12 player draft) and went Brandon Roy and KG (i ended up grabbing a lot of high% shooting players, punting 3). I wanted a big man, and had the choice between KG and Bosh. I also ended up getting Brook Lopez with my end of 3rd round pick which I felt good about.

Where would you guys (if at all) draft KG?

he was my second round pick in a 8 player draft, i took DWade 4th overall. Then it goes in reverse order... so i guess i took KG with the 12th pick.

depends on how the scoring goes in your league, but I think I would have gone with Bosh. While KG is a better defender, I'm pretty sure Bosh's scoring and rebounding numbers will be a good deal higher. You don't get fantasy points for intensity.

Scoring format is 9 category Roto.

For some reason I just liked pairing him with Roy. Very good % numbers for FG and FT, as well as intangibles like steals.

I didn't rate him so high this year, mostly because I think he'll take a fair number of nights off.  His numbers will also suffer on account of adding Rasheed, and the potential for lots of blow-out wins.  Personally, I'd rather have a big like Blake Griffin for fantasy ball, he's going to play big minutes every night and produce (even if his team sucks...)

Blake Griffin over Kevin Garnett? Blake Griffin is like a 5th round tops. You have to understand, fantasy isn't about points or rebounds. Those are a dime a dozen. Winning fantasy is about creating a strategy to get the hard to get stats: FT%, FG%, Blocks, Steals etc. Garnett does a lot of little things to help that.

I'm really surprised you wouldn't have taken Bosh over KG in fantasy. I'm guessing he will out do KG in every statistical category this year. He'll probably get more turnovers, and might shoot a lower percentage but probably not much. It seems like he's incorporating a 3 point shot into his game a bit as well

If it gives you any frame of reference at all a couple years ago I was picking 2nd. In the 1rst I took KG. In the 2nd I took Jermaine O'Neal, and in the third I took Amare the year he was coming back from microfracture surgery and I won the league

I apologize. I meant I was in a H2H league and not roto (hence the reference to punting). I was very close to picking Bosh, but decided with Roy the better strategy was to go low turnovers, high percentages and intangibles (especially since I was eyeing brook lopez at the end of the third).

In a roto league I would probably have gone Bosh with a slight edge
