The Celtics called him from his home in 2007 so that he could come out and finally get his ring.

I love PJ so much. His role in The Celtics return to the top is similar to David Roberts for the Sox in 04, not a huge role, but big enough that if you remove that piece it all falls apart. That being said i can't help but be angry at him for not coming back to us. I bless him and [dang] him all at the same time.

If he answered that call in 2008 i'm confident that we beat Orlando and we would have the frontcourt depth to stand a chance in Cleveland. The upgrade from Mikki to PJ is THAT big.

PJ was a perfect fit. He was the anti O'Bryant and a class guy.

He retired with a ring and now he is happy and relaxed. It was a true pleasure to see him playing for us that year.

For the most part I loved PJ during those playoffs. He showed up when he had to against the cavs and the Lakers and without him we may not have won that championship. With that said he really was only effective for a minimal part of his tenure here. He was absolutely terrible during the regular season and during our first playoff series against the hawks. He did have that big bucket in game 7 however which is the type of bucket that makes you forget about his other games. He did play really well against the lakers though as that was deinfitley his high point as a Celtic. It's funny though how much credit he gets because the last thing we remember about him is how great he played in his last few games with us and not everything before that. He was kind of the anti Cassell who played really well to end the regular season and then STB during the playoffs.

He did play poorly at first, but I attributed that to the fact that he hadn't played all season and was shaking off rust.  Cassell has gone through a training camp with the Clippers and part of a season.

I don't blame him for not coming back.  He went off on a high note and only risked tainting that by coming back.
