  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Does anyone know any good resources on learning to workout with a heavy bag? My buddy just dumped an old pair of bag gloves on me and I think it woudl be a cool thing to add to my workout week. Right now for cardio I'm using the elliptical (mostly), playing ball, and using the rowing machine for cardio. I'd like something new, but I'm not about to go all tae-bo about it, you know?

I boxed for awhile, get the basics of the bag down and the "workout" follows...

YouTube is an excellent place to start:

Just an add on, be careful when installing your heavy bag, it is a unique installation because of the strain it puts on the beams/joints you mount them on.  Make sure it is securely fastened somewhere where it will NOT damage the house!  I know more than a few folks who have installed these things hastily and had expensive home repairs afterwards.

Good luck, one of the most cathartic workouts on earth awaits!!!
