If Leon didn't get hurt at the end of the season, and you had enough money for either, who would be your choice for the Celtics to keep?

Leon Powe
Glen Davis

I firmly believe that if Leon didn't get hurt during the playoffs, he would have been a higher priority than Glen Davis on the Celtics list. So what do you think?

Consider the long term. Leon has bad knees, but Baby could pull a Shawn Kemp.

i have long prefered powe, but if you were to put "keep both" as an option, i am sure that would get the most votes here.  :)
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

As of right now, Leon.  He has more experience and is more valuable defensively.  But he's probably as good as he's gonna get.  I would say Baby has more potential.  Powe will never have a shot like Davis.  Plus, if Baby got into the shape Leon is in he could probably start getting some rebounds.
I do think BBD is as smart as Leon, but i have seen him make a couple mistakes these past 2 years.  I've never seen Leon make a mistake in a game before.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Sheed is Big Baby on steroids. Whatever Big Baby brings, Sheed does it 1000x better plus another 1000. I have to go with Powe.

baby.  bigger upside, less injury issues (Leon's knee's, even before this injury were a major concern).

Baby has shown continued improvement in multiple areas.  Powe is a good player, but probably not much better than we have seen

Why is the consensus that Leon has reached his peak already and Glen still has room to grow?

Leon's game has largely been the same since he joined the C's. This year we watched BBD add something to his game with the 18 foot shot. I think that and Leon's injury history is why some view BBD as having more upside.

Remember in high school before his first injury Leon was viewed as a lottery level talent and potential future all star.

I agree that BBD has MORE room to grow, but Leon is still a better rebounder, defender, dunker, and stronger period. Leon is better in the post and could only get better. BBD has a jumper but can't get into steroid shape it seems, but I think his trade value is higher. I'd like to utilize that with a team with cap space so we can get a better bench.
Can't stop, Rondo!

Baby has a wider range of skills: at varying points, he's shown the ability to shoot, drive, post-up, draw fouls, defend both frontcourt positions, show on pick and rolls, rebound (occasionally), pass the ball nicely and even grab some steals.  Powe has demonstrated more consistency in a much smaller range: rebounding, defending 4s and pick and rolls, blocking shots from the weakside, finishing strong, drawing fouls and posting up.  He hasn't shown any passing ability, ballhandling or jump shot.  He's also older and he can't promise any productivity increase based on weight loss.
