Although most of our attention has been going to the backup PG and Wing spots, we still have to remember that we do need another big. We will have a great 3 man rotation of Sheed, KG and Perk, but we need a 4th to soak up minutes and be a safety in case Doc needs to rest both starters or someone gets into foul trouble (the same reason we got Mikki last year).

These are the free agents available that I think would work and would accept the minimum. I also used both PF and C's since Rasheed could play both spots too so they could mix and match.

This is by the way assuming we can't get BBD or Powe (Powe, if healthy, would be my first option.)

Theo Ratliff
Lorenzen Wright
Rasho Nesterovic
Robert Swift (currently on summer league team)
Malik Allen
Drew Gooden
Juwan Howard
Donyell Marshall
Darius Miles
Malik Rose
Joe Smith
Stromile Swift
Chris Wilcox
Brian Skinner

What do you guys think? I personally think we have enough offense on the bench (at least coming from Rasheed) and would need a solid rebounder and defensive man. Joe Smith could space the floor well though looks like he's staying; same for Rasho.

I personally would like Swift or Wilcox as they seem like they could mesh with Rasheed (unlike Donyell Marshall, a better player but too similar in game style's to Rasheed).

What do you guys think?
I think this is a fall through the cracks portion of the team. As in we will have about five guys we're targeting and whoever is left near the end of free agency for a discount will be signed.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I've always been high on Oberto / Rasho. They just stand there and rebound. It's all we really need at that spot for 10-15 minutes. Our bench last year was undersized bigs. And Mikki...

I'd rather have Rasho than Swifty
Yup

i know perk starts...but i want to see a lineup of rondo, ray, PP Sheed and KG at some point in games...also would love to see sheed, KG, Perk together on the courtto go ultra big...let PP play some SG

i've been doing this alot on my PS3. But i've been going with

Rondo, House, KG, Sheed, Perk

but with House guarding the PG on defense.

Hopefully we can keep Davis, and get a 7 footer for insurance.

If we can't keep Davis (or swing him in a trade), my focus would be:

Wilcox
Oberto
Nesterovic
Smith
Gooden

probably in that order.

It's true, we could use another big, but I think backup 3 is by far our biggest need right now. Perk, KG and Sheed, when healthy, will easily handle the 4/5 minutes just by playing 32 a night each. Scalabrine can kick in 6-10 minutes a night to give those other guys extra rest. Ideally, it's Davis giving 15 or so minutes a night and giving our three frontcourt guys more rest. Also, we may get a 3 that can play a few minutes a night as a smallball 4.

All in all, I just think that's a low priority spot. Backup 3 is of paramount concern. Figuring out Davis comes after that, then a fourth big if needed and maybe a big guard who can handle comes next. But we don't need to start looking for bigs unless/until we make a decision on Davis, and we don't need to do that unless/until someone makes an offer (and nobody has seemed interested in doing that so far) or we pick up a backup 3 and know what our frontcourt needs will be.
Go Celtics.

Oh I agree the wing 2/3 spot is the priority at the moment. This thread was just for the purpose of discussion; in the event that we can't get BBD and Powe, who would we want for the minimum?
