Folks, Wedman was injured half the time. If anything, he was a added benefit to the '86 squad when healthy, not a key bench player. The key players were Walton and Sichting.

And concerning Parish, he was the most underrated top player for the C's so there's no comparison there to Perks.

I'm thinking more the '86-'87 team- the one that had little to no bench.

Right now our bench is Sheed,House, the ever-injured tony allen & Scals. We are essentially only 7 deep right now.  Not good.  There are plenty of question marks.  If Big Baby comes back, that will help tremendously.  The jury is still out in whether or not Walker, Giddens and/or Pruitt will be back.

Still some work to be done before they could ever approach the '86 team

This is a very fun topic to read and think about.

I view the '86 Celtics as the best single season team that has ever played in the NBA. EVER. So to compare this years team (granted some experienced and quality depth is added) is quite a discussion.

The thought of Sheed, KG, Allen and Pierce playing together as well as the potential big man rotation of KG, Perk, Sheed and Baby (gotta find a way to make that situation work) has me very excited.

I am 31, I can't imagine what it must have been like to watch the 86 Celtics on TV for the entire regular season and post-season, but I guess it was similar to the 07-08 Celtics as far as it being just magical.

Two pieces away from talking about a GREAT GREAT TEAM...
