I am sure someone has brought up this concern many times, but I am wondering how Doc will construct the 4th quarter lineup when the game is on the line.

One would assume that Sheed would be in there in crunch time, but does that mean Perk won't be in there? You need KG in, PP, Ray, and Rondo...that only leaves Perk to sit out.

I think Perk at this point is better than sheet in the paint for defense and in rebounding, and I'd hate to lose that force in crunch time.

So will we lose Perk at big moments now? or will Sheed sit out? There are other ways around this I am sure...

By matchup and how the player is playing, I'd guess.  But honestly, there aren't many teams in the league that would be able to take advantage of a KG/Sheed frontline on the interior during crunchtime.  In fact, I can't think of any teams that could do it.  So with that said, Sheed's shooting and ability to stretch the defense probably gets him on the court a lot in the clutch.

I don't think there really is a lot to be worried about over this... I trust Doc to know who to  put in when... and at what situation.

I like Sheeds ability to spread the floor, hit the long ball and also play post offense and defense. I do think to a large degree it depends on matchups and what is needed at the end but other then that I just dont think we play as well when Perk is not out there. And, I dont think Sheed is anywhere close to the interior defender that Perk is or the rebounder or "shot changer". Let's not forget the series Perk had against Howard.

Perk is better at muscling up big men than Sheed is, and we'll have to see just how much Sheed still has left in the tank.  That said, Sheed is an EXCELLENT post defender.  Outside of Howard and possibly Shaq, I can't think of any post player that I wouldn't feel perfectly content to have Sheed match up with in crunch time.  And with KG and Sheed on the frontline rebounding really shouldn't be a problem.

And as I said in another thread, Sheed isn't replacing Perk.  He's replacing Posey.  Remember how often the Celts ran the KG/Posey/Pierce/Allen line-up in 08?  It was great for getting back in games or crunchtime, but it was undersized since Pose really wasn't a PF.  But with Sheed in there instead?  I'm drooling at the prospect of what this team can do.  If everyone is healthy, should be both the best starting 5 and the best shooter/crunch line-up in the league.

dead on...tp....sheed alo gives us more of a offensive threat than perk in crunch time and can knock down ft's
