Mikki is a good 12th man... he's good enough to be at the end of the bench.

Basically 4 pts and 4 boards in 17 min a game. He fouled more than we would have liked due to not being as crisp with the defensive rotations, but you've got to give the guy credit. He was ready when called upon. Didn't complain. Provided energy off the bench and was a great team player. What do you want out of a third string Center?! Thanks for the effort while here Mikki and I hope the next group of fans appreciate you more than these here did... I for one wish you'd be back... As a third string center you are just what a team needs.

What do you mean by "he was ready when called upon?"  If it's alluding to him getting up and checking into the game, then yes I think he did that wonderfully.

He's just an awful basketball player.  The Celts at times in the playoffs needed a guy with height who could help since guys were in foul trouble.  Doc refused to go to him since he was so abysmal.

Sometimes I just don't get NBA coaches though.

It's like how Rick Pitino wouldn't run pick and rolls for Kenny Anderson. Then O'bie is like hmm ok I will make some subtle adjustments to our system...hmm NYC pick and roll legend Kenny Anderson...hmm I'll run some pick and rolls for him. Wow look at him destroy Chucky Atkins, conference finals here we come!

Mikki Moore = shoots from mid range. He's like Mark Blount with even less defense and rebounding but not such a jerk. You sign him to shoot those shots cause that's all he does, and if you didn't know that, why not?

What did they expect from him?? To find out that he is actually a fantastic rebounder and post defender, it's just that nobody ever told him to do that? Doc was like 'hey Mikki, you should get more rebounds' and he was like 'oh ok.'

I've seen a lot of players who didn't get consistent playing time and a few DNP's between appearances not be real energetic and excited when they got in the game for a few minutes of garbage time, or just to give someone a quick break. Mikki on the other hand was always fired up to get in and help no matter how long he'd be in or how long it had been since he had been in. When he was out he was constantly "waving the towel" on the side and rooting his teammates on. THAT is what I mean by ready to come in... But yet somehow I think you knew that but wanted to take another shot at the guy. Sad.

You often can't tell how bad a person is until you are coaching him or playing with him. That is part of why so many draft picks, FA signings, and trades don't work out.

Personally, EJ, I read your initial assessment the same way Tom (tb) did.  He might have been "fired up" as you say, rather than lethargic in terms of his level of activity on the court, but his inability to harness that energy and his propensity for the glaring mental error (fouling a jump-shooter, forgetting that a guy was a jump-shooter and leaving him completely alone, forgetting to guard the screen-and-roll in any way, shape or form, just to name a few) indicated to me that he was definitely not "ready when called upon" as far as I see it.

It seems we differ on our definitions of "ready when called upon," but I'm  not shocked that others took it the way they did.

I have found very few players quite as infuriating to watch as Mikki over the last couple of years.  It's really the best word I can think of to describe the experience of watching him play.  This is not good.

Ah ok- I really didn't know what you were getting at, so I guess that makes sense now.

On the bright side, I don't see how he could be any worse that Mikki. I'm just amazed that another NBA team could look at Mikki's body of work last year and think, "this guy could help us!"

I think everyone would agree he tried very hard, he just stunk. Of course, there were games that he was our first big off the bench becuase of a myriad of injuries to our big men. I guess it was better to have him play center than Bill Walker.
