lets see..james played 40 plus minutes and was gassed. i am saying that if grant hill can allow pierce to limit his minutes AND STILL BE AN OFFENSIVE threat while on the court during the regular season...boston has a much better chance at a title than throwing 2 unproven guys like allen and walker in there.....getting a grant hill will allow pierce to be rested so he can play 40 minutes in the playoffs if needed and doc has a solid proven vet to put in there if he needs to

we didn't win because WE HAD NO BENCH! that is our point

So...In your logic, someone G.Hill, etc. coming in to play 8 minutes a game is going to win us a championship?  Because I can guarantee, if Pierce is healthy, he will play 40 minutes a game in the playoffs.  LeBron played 41.4, and Kobe played 40.8.

I believe I can end this debate quite easily with a few words. Those words--"basketball is a team game".

I'm pretty sure you can't "end the debate" with those words.

Let me give you a hypothetical, tell me what you think.

Suppose some great statistician came up with an all encompasing basketball stat that gave every player a rank out of 10.  (Work with me here, I know it's impossible.)

Lets then say that you had teams of 8.  (Only 8 really play any amount of minutes).

Let's then say you have Team A and Team B

Team A                    Team B
A = 5                                A = 10
B = 5                                B = 8
C = 5                                C = 5
D = 5                                D = 5
E = 5                                E = 5
F = 5                                F = 4
G = 5                                G = 2
H = 5                                H = 1
Total = 40                        Total = 40.

Team game right?  Teams are equal?

Which team is better?

team "b" would look to be better,  but when player "a" or "b" go out with an injury, KG anyone, team "a" then looks better.
