Wouldn't this guy be a great addition to our team. If House decides to look for a long term deal, Novak would be a cheap alternative. A lights out 3point shooter that can spread the floor for Rondo to operate. His D-fense is weak, and is very slow. Even @ 6'10, he rarely blocks shot. Novak won't be a rotation guy, but a situational player. Doc can use him in set plays, or just to space the floor. A cheap pickup.

depends on how the rest of the offseason goes. if there's a clear roster spot for him after we fill our needs -- fine. if he signs with someone else -- fine.

I agree.  I can see where you're coming from with this, but really, it's much more beneficial to have a dead shooter at the 1 or 2 spot where they aren't expected to contribute inside on offense and have help defense at the other end.  If he's here, fine, if not, fine.

Believe or not, Steve has hit couple of game winner in his short NBA career.

I like him as a situational player.  If he is willing to sign for the minimum, I would give him a look.

I'd really only want this if we were able to pull a trade and dump some roster spots in 2 or 3 for 1s.  I mean isn't Scalabrine a lot like Novak.  While he might not be quite the shooter, he's actually a better defender.  Plus, the last thing this team needs as currently constructed is more undersized or perimeter oriented big men.  The real need is to get some big bangers down low. 

Now if Scal and TA get packaged, Baby walks, and the C's bring in Oberto and McDyess, things would be different.  However, if we were adding Novak to Scal, Baby, and Powe, no thanks.

exactly, if some of our mediocre swings get packaged (scal, ta, giddens) for one guy, and the roster opens up, i'd be happy to have this guy as an end bench, situational player who could earn some minutes. but only on the min salary -- not taking up part of the MLE or LLE.
