not being the clippers anymore? there is really know good history to look back on. the team is just associated with losing. while i'm sure it would be great to turn it around, we've heard that before. does'nt matter what i think though. i just wonder if their fans would be open to it. i'd like to see a poll on that. let them all vote the new name in.

It worked for the rays, the year after they shortened our name from devil rays to rays the won first place and made it to the world series.

I just have a feeling it would just add another punchline to their history. Really depends on what they switched it to though

I think they should go to San Diego, or maybe someplace like St. Louis.  Give them their own city with a fresh fan base and change the team's name and maybe it would rejuvenate their image a bit.

The Clippers have one of the best stadium deals in all of sports.  They are not leaving L.A.

Yeah, great deal, they get all the bad dates the Lakers don't want and in return they have a fanbase even less likely to go to a game and they don't have to pay for a stadium of their own.

Eggsactly.  Sterling's no dummy.  He's got a sweet deal in L.A.

They need to get rid of Sterling - he doesn't care about winning, just making money. He won't leave LA, because it's probably one of the few places a terrible team will still make money.

As for the NBA, it would be great if they could move the clippers. Give another city a franchise, without having to make another team.

They really just need a whole new front office.  They have a chance for something special with the team they have right now to make something happen in four years.  Thorton is a good player, Griffin could be GREAT if he works out, and Gordon looked special at times.  That's three key positions taken care of for the future.  Move some of the contracts and big men and add some pieces to what they have.  In terms of the bottom teams in the NBA, I actually like their setup going forward a lot.  The problem, the cheap and imcompetent front office will no doubt blow it.

Also, read the Bill Simmons article on the team.  They can stay/move wherever they want, but they need to be called the Braves, they need the white buffalo back, and they need to print a public appology.  Give me a TP if you're with me on that one.
