It's the logical move, now we can trade him if someone wants him for a long term deal. If teams are afraid we're going to match we could get him for another year for cheap money.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz

Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I guess this is good, but we'll have to see what happens when other teams put out offers.  To be honest, if the C's can get a big man with size (like McDyess), I wouldn't be devastated to see him walk.  I feel like Powe can provide most of what Davis can by the playoffs next year, and that if we really do sign a legit backup center, there isn't going to be time for both of them anyway.  As for the future, I don't think Davis or Powe is good enough to start on a contender, so I don't really love the idea of either as the PF of the future.

So, it'd be nice if he was back at a cheap price for depth.  But if the C's can bring in someone bigger, I think we'll be just fine with Perk/KG/Powe/new big man (not to mention Scal).

Ugh it's most definetly good news.

Davis can play both PF and Center and they are more than likely going to out priced in regards to anyone of any substance.

Powe is done for a long while.

Powe learned how to face the basket and hit a jumper? Where was I?  ;)

I think this is a non story. If they had not offered him the QO so that they couldn't match any offere given to Baby, that would be huge news. This is just so expected and good basketball business.

Similarly, we could say that Davis learned how to finish around the basket and rebound?

I probably could have phrased my point better.  What I truly meant that is that both, although having different skills, are roughly about the same in talent.  Davis might have a slight edge; however, if we get a real big man to play behind Perkins, whoever the backup PF is going to be is only going to see about 15 mpg a night at best.  If Powe is a downgrade from Davis, I don't think the difference is dramatic enough to really matter in those 15 mpg.
