I would assume that if this offer was out there, it's apart of a bigger 3 way deal.

And I'm completely theorizing the third partner would be the T'Wolves and the C's looking to acquire Randy Foye. Since the trade machine is down I can't really look too far into it but let's say:

Minnesota Receives: Stuckey, #15 from Detroit

Boston Receives: Foye, Hamilton, Prince

Detroit Recieves: Rondo, Allen, Bill Walker, future Celtic pick

Then Minnesota can turn the #15 pick with a few other picks and look to trade down to 2 to get Ricky Rubio and run with a

Rubio
Stuckey
Miller
Love
Jefferson

starting 5, and hopefully accept the fact that they're going to give up about 150 points a game.

That allows us to capitalize on the pluses Hamilton and Prince could present as well getting more stability out of Foye.

I'm also with the T'Wolves writer; I think Detroit is absolutely crazy not to consider the original offer.

This trade is even worse than the one originally offered, Stuckey is way better than Foye.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Yeah. What does Randy Foye have to do with any of this?

did you read the story on the front page?

This was "discussed" the same way we discuss trades here.

the Celtics called with an over the moon offer for themselves, the pistons said "are you nuts?" and they moved on. Ther was never any interest on their side.

Teams make 100's of calls throughout the off season, most of which are just kicking the tires by one team's value of a player, and are flat out rejected by the other team. that's what happened here.

I'm mentioning it figuring that the Celtics made the call with more in mind then simply doing this trade straight up.

We talk alot about how Danny "Hangs up the phone" on that one, won't return calls or whatever, but you ever wonder how it turns out in real life?

I just picture these guys like big children because of the way we talk about them.

example:

*Joe Dumars picks up phone*

Oh hi, Danny! Yeah, yeah family is good, hows yours? Good, good...so what's up, why'd you call?....uh huh.....ok.....Trade idea huh? Well you know I said no one was untouchable, what were you thinking? Oh Rondo yes I love him! Ray Allen, solid player, yup. Oh for Rip, well he's a cornerstone for us but no one is untouch..uh huh...Tayshaun too? Well Danny, I don't...whats thats? And Rodney Stuckey?! I see.
*Picks up phone from  table and throws it against the wall, where it smashes into a million pieces as Dumars screams angrily behind it 'Nobody puts Rodney in a Corner!!!' Then, he hears phone ringing in the other room, his secretary picks up and tells him he's got a call*
Okay, Shelia, who is it?...What's that?...Danny Ainge?! Danny Ainge?! You tell that soulless SOB that I'm not even gonna pick up the PHONE!

Whatever, its a slow Tuesday. Let your mind wander.

mabey stat, but i think it was probably more of a "lets see what other teams think rondo and ray's contract are worth" calls.
