Taking a look at the Roster for the Nets, they have the cap space and the need for a versital 4/5 player; BBD fits that description.

Thoughts on the Nets or any other team landing him?

And if he leaves, how do we replace the depth needed at
the 4/5 position?  Powe will most likely be resigned at a
bargin (I wish him the best in recovery), but not likely to
be serviceable for the majority of the 2009-2010 season.

Nets are saving up for the 2010 sweepstakes.  They're not blowing that chance by overpaying for BBD.

I think BBD stays because he wont get what he's expecting on the FA market due to the 2010 sweepstakes, and the down economy.

Even if New Jersey wasn't saving up, a max deal is just a preposterous idea for Baby. Do you just mean something more than the MLE (like a $6 million starting salary)? If he gets that offer, he should take it because we can't match and nobody else will make that offer to him. I still think the most he'll get is $4.5 million a year; with this economy and next summer's hype, I think $3.5 is more likely.
Go Celtics.

It would be funny if they did though. Almost worth losing Big Baby.

Quote from: Daily Trenton Toilet Water
Nets signed former Celtics' forward Glen 'Big Baby' Davis to a 4 year, 50 million dollar offer sheet. Davis, when reached for comment had only to offer: "Really? You gotta be kidding me! I'm rich, [profane]!"

In other news, New Yorkers complain about noise as entire state of New Jersey repeated bangs head against wall.

like that is always lethal." - Evan 'The God' Turner
