This link of Van Gundy's partial post-game press conference doesn't do it justice, but the entire press conference on nba.com mysteriously could not load for me.  Anyway, I'm just surprised that it took until game 5 for SVD to start whining.  Other than that thing about Alston's suspension and comparing it to Rondo in the Bulls series, I haven't seen him complaining much to the media about stuff, which is surprising because it seemed like he was doing that through the last month of the season and into the 1st round.

But it finally came, and if he doesn't get a $25K fine like Doc has gotten, there's something wrong.  He didn't just single out one referee.  He made a blanket statement on the entire NBA and how they supposedly favor the Celtics.

I don't have the exact quote, because it was cut out from that clip, but it was something along the lines of, "whether we're in Boston or Orlando, you're not going to get a call against the Celtics down the stretch".  In terms of game 5, he was referring specifically to two instances where Hedo and Rafer took it to the basket and put up wild shots.  In Alson's case, that was just a stupid play.  I still don't know if he was shooting or passing, but either way, it was dumb.  With Hedo, there was definitely some contact with him and Perk, but that play was very similar to one at the end of game 1, when the Celtics were down 4 in the midst of there big comeback and Pierce took it to the hoop and got bumped by Howard.  Definite contact there, but a good no call.  What made it look so bad for Hedo was that he didn't have a good handle on the ball, and he didn't really try to score.  He was just expecting a foul.  Pierce, on the other hand, went strong to the basket.  He still missed the shot, but the contact didn't look as obvious.

Also, SVG says how the Celtics would never get called for something down the strech??  How soon he forgets.  If it wasn't for a cheap foul call on Davis to put Lewis at the line with 11 seconds in game 4 for two free throws, we never would've needed Baby's heroics at the buzzer, and that little chubby kid would've never been flung into the 5th row of seats, and his hat would never have gotten caught in the rafters.  8)
