At this point is there really any question? I mean, sure PP has made some big shots but they were all contested. Honestly, I don't believe PP has taken Salmons to the hole one time this entire series. On the other hand, Salmons seems to be able to take PP at will. The only thing wrong with PP is John Salmons.

I disagree that he owns Pierce, but the captain certainly cannot defend Salmons right now in his current physical state.

No he doesn't. Pierce is injured in two places and he's still managed to outplay him for most of the series.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I wish I could disagree with this thread.  I'd still take PP 100% of the time though.

They can't guard Salmons at all.  He's good, but he's not as good as he's looked in this series.

I wish I could disagree with this thread.

But it's true... this one doesn't make Salmons a better player, but right now he is in better shape than Paul... :(
"Life has so many hurdles. Some of them I've hopped over, some of them I've tripped over. The key is to get back up and finish the race."- Paul Pierce

And he did finish...

After possibly the game of his life, Salmons is averaging 19.1 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 1 STPG, 1 BPG and is shooting 42% and 33% from the three point line.

Meanwhile the Captain is averaging 24 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 1.8 APG, 1.25 STPG while shooting 44% and 34% from the three point line.

And yet, you call Pierce beating him in every single statistical category in this series while playing hurt and exhausted due to the strain of team injuries, being owned?

All thing considered I'd say Pierce is outplaying Salmons and that Salmons had one great game and 5 average games against the Truth. That's not owning him.

pierce has outplayed salmons the entire series...better offense, better defense. this one game, salmons got buckets on a few ridiculous shots that had no business going in. but other than game 6, salmons has been outplayed, and i'd say by a fair margin, by pierce.

Pierce is exhausted . I wish he fouled out in the third. then he'd have Fifty points like RAY.

On Defense Sal is getting owned by pierce. And on offense he seems a step quicker or pierce is a step slower.

Sadly, Pierce looks like he is running in sand trying to defend Salmons. Even if Salmons misses, it seems like he gets clean looks everytime. Paul looks tired out there. Has Salmons outplayed Paul this series? NO. But, Salmons should not be playing this well. It wasn't just tonight either.

Something happened on Saint Patrick's day to Salmons. He's made ridiculous shots this series to exceed expectations, but Pierce will find the will to get the last laugh. That 38 point game to fade Pierce's 36 in the loss in Chicago back in March was the start of something the two made happen out in Sacramento. Everyone remember that game, when the Celts were merciless after back-to-back California holdiay losses, Salmons a weak bright spot? Those two games have shaped the series between the two wounded warriors. Simply put, Salmons can't do this night-in, night-out. He kept Chicago alive to fight another day, and he and Miller had their pride repaired form that beating in Sacramento, but now it is our time. The Captain will rule the Garden.

Salmons owns Pierce? Congratulations on winning the "Most Ridiculous and Stupid Comment of the Decade" award.
