well, not that old. I've got a question about the 88-89 and 89-90 C's. I remember watching these years as a kid, but I was too little to know what was really going on. So here goes.
88-89. How did this team finish a game over .500? I know the easy answer is "Bird was out. Duh." But still, McHale, Parish, and a blossoming Reggie couldn't do better than 42 wins? And was it a given that Bird was going to be out for the year? Was there any chance of him making it back for the play-offs?
89-90: What was up with the first round exit? I know Bird missed a few games, but didn't McHale and Parish pretty much play every game? Was it all Rodger's fault? Wasn't there chemistry issues this year as well? Just seems funny that team that was challenging a fantastic Pistons team two years ago would struggle this much.
