Leon is capable of going for 20 and 11 off the bench on incredibly efficent shooting.

Baby has become an incredibly consistent player, and when he's left open from 18 ft he is deadly. He scraps, also, and if Leon isn't having a great game you can always count on Big Baby.

Mikki Moore has so much energy and hustle, he does a GREAT job blitzing on picks and forcing the oppositing team's guards to back the ball up to almost halfcourt. It totally disrupts their offense.

Perk is has his lunch pale every day, and is the most underappreciated Celtic. He does great work for this team night in and night out.

And of course.... there's KG, the DPOY and (in my mind) MVP of last year. He's just outstanding with almost every facet of the game.

Look at that rotation for just a second, and admire it. Wow.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

We definitely have talented bigs; the problem, to the extent that there's a problem, is the front court consistency.  If BBD and/or Powe played like this every night, we'd literally be unstoppable.

If KG was on the court we wouldn't need them to play like this, plus there would be less minutes available. I think both (Davis in particular) need extended minutes to feel comfortable out there. Let's not forget they are both very young and still learning how to play at the best level in the best team of the league.

That said, they've been fantastic lately.

Despite a huge scoring night for him, Varejao is obviously a big downgrade from Wallace against our bigs.  He looked athletically outclassed basically the entire night. Just highlights how ridiculous his $10 mill per year contract demand was last year.

And I was shocked by how soft their interior defense looked.  There were some awful calls and no-calls, sure, but a lot of our interior scoring was simply due to them screwing up rotations and not actively challenging layups.  I'll chalk it up as a fluke, but it's been awhile since I've seen such a good defensive team play so soft in a big game.

When we get KG and Scal back, we'll have 6 legit bigs - if they don't get Wallace back they'll have basically 3 (I count Smith and Hickson 1/2 because of their limitations).

I worry about our lack of length on the bench, especially against long teams like the Lakers. But after watching last night's victory over the long Cavs, I think my fears were misplaced. At least I hope so.  Powe seems to have rediscovered his great timing on the offensive boards. He is so quick to get rebounds in traffic.  That is a gift.
