I was looking at GS's salary situation and it's really not that bad!

http://hoopshype.com/salaries/golden_state.htm

They only have one player making 8 figures (Ellis).  And a lot of young explosive players that aren't terribly overpaid.  If they are still trying to stick with small ball, wouldn't they want Amare?  Ellis, Biedrins, Crawford, Maggette, Jackson, are all good players and not overpaid much more than the average player on their second contract.  What about a deal like:

GS trades:
Crawford
Brandon Wright
Turiaf

Phoenix trades:
Amare

Checks out:  https://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=165~2789~3242~1727&teams=21~21~21~9&te=&cash=

GS now has an explosive gunning small ball lineup of Ellis, Maggette, Jackson, Biedrins, and Amare while not giving up Azabuike, Randolph, or Belinelli.  They could try to turn Ellis and one of those players into a better pg.

Why Phoenix does it:  I read today that Crawford is expected to opt out after this season, so they shed 8.6M in salary (which Sarver wants to do if they aren't winning), get a very good prospect in Wright, and I think Turiaf fits the style of play that Phoenix is going after (I think Turiaf is a good fit on any team really).  Even if Crawford doesn't opt out, he's still a good player and not terribly overpaid.

Thoughts?  Is Wright a good enough prospect to draw away Amare?  Maybe GS could throw in Randolph and Phoenix could add Barnes, Tucker, or Dudley?

(By the way, how did we let Phoenix get Barnes for a 1yr/1.2M signing this offseason?  We couldn't have thrown him 1.5?!?!)

I don't think it's enough for Phoenix. I think at the very least you have to throw Randolph in there too, and still I don't think they do it.

But if they were, I say Golden State goes back to the Clippers and accepts their offer of B Diddy for Maggette and Marcus Williams which they idiotically turned down in the first place.
