Ainge has nothing to act on. This is the harsh realty of the Boston Celtics right now.

Wells is a better all around player than Posey and would be a good signing. He can create his own shot and sometimes shots for others. He has a good handle and would be a good anchor for the second unit. He can play 3 positions like posey and is very strong. He's kinda Pierce light.

Wells WAS a better all around player than Posey.  His game has dropped off substantially in the last few years.  If we were talking about Wells of 4-5 years ago, he would already be signed and playing in the NBA, but we are not.

He still may be able to play, but it is tough to know for sure based on the evidence we have.

Have you seen Posey playing this year? He looks beat.  I haven't seen Wells this year, but last year he looked very good.

I wouldn't mind having 'beat' Posey on our team right now.  Nearly all of his stats have seen a modest increase since last year.  He has a higher fg%, higher 3p%, and averages more points while all of his other numbers are roughly on par with last year per 36 minutes, with the lone exception of assists.  If he looks beat, I think that's a reflection of his team, rather than his play personally.

Really?  Maybe I have been watching the wrong games (I admittedly haven't seen him play in about 3 weeks), but when I watched, he was the same player he always was.  Good, and pesky defender, good shooter, and just clutch, doing all the little things.

On the other hand, last year, I thought Wells looked like a shell of his former self.  He didn't do much defending, and didn't have the explosiveness that made him so good in the first place.

I saw Posey play 3 games with, I think, 2 points and nothing else to really show for those games. He looked done. Wells, Idon't know... But The Celtics should have a look, because you could sign  Wells and could not sign Posey.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely think Wells is worth a look, I just think it is a major leap to say he is better than Posey.  If he was really better than Posey, he would be in the NBA right now.  NBA GM's are not complete idiots.

my take is posey looked incredible early this year.At his best. Last few games, looks kind of like he is fine but less fully involved. Those you watching a lot of NO games can also see they don't find him on the perimeter like we did. Last night game was like that. they went to other guys. Even when Paul was playing, same deal. I see that the stats don't show this exactly but its what I am seeing

And Wells looked fine to me last year or the year before.

I think Posey was over valued because of the championship and I think Wells was a little undervalued....

u know what, i have to admit i was the backers of ainge's off season moves, the time to act was back then, we don't know how tight the purse strings where being held by wyc, but of the top of my head guys like elson, barnes, lue who were signed for next to nothing could have helped this team, adding walker, giddens and bryant was a mistake, max we should only have added one project but definitely not all three.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
Does anyone feel that Sam would be ready to help out, that they have been saving him for a late season run?
Does anyone feel that our unused bench players could help if given the opportunity (Pruitt, Walker, O'Bryant)?
Does anyone feel that it would be difficult for a new player to crack the rotation?
And Finally does anyone feel that Ainge will make a move?

I have my own opinions but I will with hold them until I know the opinions of others, as to not influence their decision.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

This guy is available. If he makes a shot, he will not miss one for a long while.

I think Cassell is coming, the question is when?  It's getting kind of late, though.  Maybe they're working him really hard in practice and then are going to spring him on Cleveland or Orlando in the playoffs as a surprise.
