I've been listening to a ton of Nate Dogg recently, G-Funk Classics Vol 1 & 2's been on repeat for 2 weeks now, but I really want to broaden my horizons. I grew up in a fishing/fiddle town (Nova Scotia) so my knowledge base is pathetic. I like mellow and laid back, ND's perfect. Rap threads fill up like crazy around here, would anyone like to throw a few albums my way for me to get my hands on? Old school preferably. TP's. Cheers.

I don't know how novice your knowledge base is, but any conversation about G-Funk usually starts with Dr. Dre's The Chronic and Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

You can't go wrong with Death Row. Snoop, Dre, Dogg Pound, Daz Or Kurupt solo albums, Warren G, The Twinz. Also there's DJ Quik, Suga Free, Ice Cube, Westside Connection.

Back in the day the Bay Area had "Mobb Music". It kind of sounded like G-Funk. There was Spice-1, The Click (E-40, B-legit, D-shot, Suga Tee), Mac Dre, Too Short, Mac Mall, Ray Luv, Get Low Playaz (JT The Bigga Figga, San Quinn), 4-Tay, Dru Down, Richie Rich, Celly Cell, The Luniz, RBL Posse, 3xCrazy (Keak Da Sneak), Andre Nickatina/Dre Dog.

Tupac started in the Bay, and ended up in L.A. . He could be considered both.
