Sorry, but the off-season dragged on to a point that it was getting tough reading Celticsblog stories about the Houston Rockets' roster changes. But now I feel the excitement again of the new season. Articles about Darius Miles feeling great, and outrunning guys, and dunking on Walker. Tony Allen feeling great.  Rajon Rondo only starting his 3rd year in the NBA, sky's the limit for that kid. KG, Paul and Ray showing up ready to go. The rooks fighting for PT.  Paddy OBryant running with the first team.  I think the loss of Posey, while real, has been overblown.  My one concern is Perk's shoulder. Third surgery they say. I only remember two of them, so that kind of threw me.  Also, who will get cut or traded? I say Miles not only stays but becomes a big contributor.  I predict BBD gets traded for a conditional 1st round pick, or am I dreaming? If not BBD, then Pruitt gets traded for a second round pick. Still scratching my head on why they re-signed Sam I am.

I have to believe that Sam I Am will come down with a benchriding injury and allow him to hang out with the team and continue to pump Rajon's head with veteran wisdom.  And, I don't know how or when, but Scal has to go, doesn't he?

Can't wait to see the first games, to see the kids and Miles show what they have.

I think the loss of Posey, while real, has been overblown.

couldn't disagree more.

sure, we could still be a terrific regular season team without him, but we don't win the title without him as our 6th man last year.  He basically took Perk's spot on the floor when crunch time came around.  He was a rich man's Robert Horry - leave him open and he'll hit the game clinching 3, put him on the other teams best weapon and he'll give 'em a headache if nothing else.

Not trying to be a deb downer (i very much share your excitement and agree with your other points), but i think that as the season progresses we won't soon forget the physical and emotional leadership that now resides in the Bayou.

Well the emotional and physical leader is Garnett and Posey is about to come back down to Earth with more minutes.  In fact I have feeling we'll be seeing him showing up on IR more often.  He needed Boston more than Boston needed him.  It was perfect spot for him and his physical limitations.  New Orleans doesn't have the depth and will be tempted to play him more than he can handle.  Just a hunch.  Not that I have any problem with him taking the money he deserves a big pay day although sometimes what you want is not always best for you.  Good Luck Pose time to turn the page.

I too share the excitement!! I can't believe we'll be seeing a banner raised and that the defense of the title will be in full force before this month is over. This was definitely the longest, shortest off season that I can remember.

I am ready for the season to begin, as well.  Already got my tickets for the Nov. 28 game vs. Golden State.  Hopefully, I can make it to one or two other games this season.  Entering the upcoming season certainly doesn't feel the same as last, nor should it, but it definitely has an intense feel to it.  I'm just mad they're holding training camp down at my alma mater this year...the year after I graduated....figures.

Couldn't agree more with the Rondo part.  The kid's always been one of my favorites and I think he's really for a big leap, maybe even "The Leap" this year.  He's going to make a run at the All-Star team this year in my opinion.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."
