If the C's want to win the championship next year hopefully Rajon Rondo will have more control over the offense. He's prolly going to be a favorite for the MIP Award next year unless Tony Allen steps up.

Anyways predict Rajon Rondo's statline for next year: 32 mpg/13.5 ppg/7 assts/4.5 reb/2 stls

At UK he could hit that shot. If a championship doesn't give him the confidence to shoot more nothing will!

I think the lack of a true backup Point Guard (or least established yet i.e Pruitt) Rondo will probably get around 36 MPG with House and Pruitt to some extent playing the 2

Rondo's numbers: 13 PPG/4.3 RPG/7.75 APG/1.9 SPG/.5 BPG in 36 mintues of time sounds reasonable

remember, he'll get open shots because NBA teams still doesn't respect Rondo's jump shot so the points should go up as I see Ray Allen's PPG drop a little more
Let's Go Celtics!!

Rajon Rondo was banged up in the NBA finals and was terrible in games 3,4, and 5 becauase of it. His number number dipped in the lakers series. He only shot 37% against the Lakers. However despite his shooting percentage and the lack of confidence in his shot we still think he was awesome in the nba finals because he excels in other areas.

If he improves on weaknesses then just imagine how impressed we'll be with him next year.  :)

i don't know about MIP or if thats even a realistic stat line. the biggest thing i think he needs to work on it actually not his jump shot. its his ability to finish at the basket. he gets there so easily at times with these chris paul/ deron williams/ tony parker like moves and misses the layup! the layup either spins out or goes in and out. if he started making those, then he would already be a much more improved player.

Become Legendary.

It's not even a matter of making the lay up. He needs to actually attempt it.

I agree but last year I felt like Rajon Rondo played the little brother role. He was just scared to shoot because he didn't want to mess up his older brothers only shot at a title.

That pressure is now off for Rondo!

EXACTLY! Someone pointed out how easily he gets to the basketball, but he doesn't use that to his advantage enough. In a big game last season against Detroit, he dominate Billups in the 1st half. Then he went back to less aggressive and being a facilitator. As our big 3 age(and age fast) we need players like him and Perk to be more aggressive. Perk too has a nice shot around the basketball that I would like to see him improve on. And yes, neither should have that pressure of the "big brothers" this year as they proved themselves perfect in the playoffs.
Can't stop, Rondo!

OKAY, how many times last year did he pull his sweet behind the back fake pass move to totally break the ankles of the defender and then MISS THE FREE LAYUP!?

Become Legendary.

I've read a few times of Pruitt being a possible cut b/c he's not yet developed. And we don't have enough roster spots right now to add anyone else. So do we cut him to add Cassell as the backup PG again? And what about PJ? I heard he might come back later, so aren't we obliged to trade away Scal or BBD to make room for him too?

Rondo has proven himself, and he will only get better. House isn't the best PG, as he's really only out there to put up shots for quick offense. Is it safe to rely on Pruitt to step up?

Where did you read that? In forums like this?

I have been tempted to start a thread about this for a while now, but since this thread hasn't really taken off yet I feel like this is a good place to say it..

Can anyone else see Rajon in the 2012 Olympic team, even as a longshot?  Think of the possibilities for (American) backup PGs by then:

Derrick Rose
Raymond Felton
TJ Ford
Jameer Nelson
Mo Williams
Devin Harris
Shaun Livingston

Left out a bunch of guys who will be too old.
Some on the list are pretty banged up, or could be potentially.
Williams isn't really much of a PG..  Or is he?  I suppose he has a shot.
And who knows what could happen with Rose, or any other rookie for that matter.

I suppose they could decide to throw in another SG, like Roy or Kevin Martin, but does anyone see Rajon as a viable Olympic bench player at 26 years old?

By age 26, if Rajon continues to develop he should be an all star caliber player.
Honestly I don't care so much about 4 years from now. The Olympic team selection committee, who knows how they work anyways. I wouldn't get worked up about it.
