Danny signed up Pat O'bryant, Tony Allen, Eddie house and Bill Walker to expire with Ray Allen and Scal.

Now, assuming Rajon picks up the qualifying offer (or gets a contract between 4 -6 Mill), After the 2010 season roughly $26 million will be coming off the books giving the Celtics $15 million to spend of Free agency for 2010.

Is Danny eying 2010?

I would have to say to this, Isn't everybody eyeing 2010?
"Sam Cassell was heckling on the sideline when I walked down, He looked at me and was like, ‘You're getting the ball, I know you're getting the ball!'
said Allen.

And did Cassell, a man of many words, have anything to say after that?

"No, I told him he needed to wear a tie."

Yes I would say a good majority are but teams Like LA (unless Kobe Opts out ), Orlando, Phoenix, San Antonio, New Orleans, Philadelphia and Indiana (after signing Granger) are not in position.

Its just interesting to me, Danny put this team in a great position for both 2010 and 2011.

I don't think Danny is happy with one championship. He wants one every year or two. So hes thinking ahead. Ray will be up maybe sign him for less because he will be getting older pull in one of the big names or semi big name and we can have a big 4 or 5 by that time if rondo keeps going well. As a GM he can  never be satisfied or the next year the league may pass by the Celtics.

I think Rondo might be worth more than that by 2010. If Bill Walker and O'Bryant play like we all hope they will that will eat into that 15 million.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

he will be if he develops his jumpshooting game for sure (which i expect him to do) if not, 6-8 mill seems reasonable for a defensive PG who gives a bit away on offense.

Like i said, i belive your right though and he'll improve his shooting, and be more in the 8-10ish range.

I would estimate Rhondo getting somewhere in the hood of 5 years 30 million dollars.

I think it is more likely that he is stockpiling contracts to trade next summer/year, rather than looking at cap space.

only if he shows no improvment on offense in the next 3 years, thats only 6 million per. Thats not alot for a (then to be ) 25 year old PG who's already PG'ed a team to a championship and is being recognized as one of the best defeinsve PG's in the league and a true "passing" PG.

if he shows nothing more than he has on offense for the 3 years, sure, 6 per is likely. if he continues to improve, no way he signs that.

Do you mean to combine with Ray Allen? Or to avoid having to deal Ray Allen?

Now that you mention it they could package Scal, House, Allen and O'bryant for an 8 - 10 million dollar player next summer. The incentive for a team to take a package like this would be to fill out the roster with relatively young players with playoff experience and/or to clear some cap room.

This would free up some roster space for ring hungry veterans and give the Celtics another valuable asset.

I don't think that part has been worked out yet.  I just think they are trying to collect movable pieces, because they will be needing to reload for the summer of 2010, when Ray comes off the books, and KG and Pierce are both getting older.

I don't think Danny is the type who would be targetting anyone specific, but he knows he can put himself in a position of strength by have as many expiring contracts as possible to deal.
