What if....... Reggie Miller signed last summer?

One of my favorite comics of all time was the "What If?" series



its always fun to speculate what could have been, and I think we had a bigger tendency to do this in years passed, with things like, what if we drafted Andre Miller instead of trading for Potapenko, or what if we kept Fox and Wesley instead of signing Travis Knight, or what if we traded 3 #1's and Eric Williams for Scottie Pippen when he was still a solid player, etc. etc.... all moves that may have made the team better in the short and perhaps the long

But now I bring you the opposite, what if we had signed Reggie Miller instead of James Posey (I don't think we could have brought both in) - do we still win Green 17? Of course its purely speculation and there is no definitive answer, but obviously Reggie fills a similar role offensively, hitting big 3's, but he doesn't bring the lockdown defense JP brought, nor can he play the 4 when the c's go small.... I personally think the team would have adjusted and still won, but I wonder what others think.....

well miller would have definitely helped. maybe not as much as posey though but if you would remember, ray allen's 3 pointers were mostly uncontested and wide wide open. i'm sure reggie could have nailed those while allen was in the slump.

As for Miller, without Posey I don't think we win the title.

but it really is kinda fun to think about what if a comic series went a different way, or if something happened differently, much like it is with the c's

Reggie would have been like P.j Brown  or Sam Cassell. The two players hit key shoots in key games. He would have been a bit better than Sam I am. Plus Reggie could have got his ring!

I don't see why we couldn't have taken Posey AND Miller-Time. House or Cassell would have been the odd-men-out when it came to roster spacing. If we had lost one of them and had Reggie, then YES we would have won number 17. BUT if it was as you thought of with Posey be gone, then NO. Millers offense would have been nothing without Posey's defense.
