  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
If he doesn't take the full LLE, he takes some of the MLE and Maggette and Posey are not options.

He is prepared to re-sign with the Denver Nuggets for $1.2M Veteran Minimum.

LLE and he should be in the bag.

Some Nuggets fans really dont like this guy...it makes me wonder why.

Everyone out there seems to have some glaring defect in their game. Was just wondering about this guy. Not a Cassell to be sure; but perhaps a good role player. Look at what NY paid for Duhon - crazy. Lue has slightly better numbers but lacks size, which is a problem with Rondo and poss. House on board. Pruitt is tall; but lacks bulk.

Johnson was decent when he played for Indiana, but I haven't heard much about him since then.  How old is he anyway?

He'll turn 34 in October, which isn't awful if the team is only looking to bring him in for a year or two (as one would expect).  So far as I know, he plays smart basketball, knows how to run the point and can occasionally get a bucket if needed -- he was absolutely absurd in that Pacers-Nets series in '06, although the 20 ppg was a bit of an aberration for a guy with a career playoff scoring average of 5 points per game.

No problems on my end with picking a guy like this up -- if the finances work reasonably well, of course.

I believe you're thinking of Anthony Carter -- who played for DEN, MIA and MIN.

Anthony Johnson played for IND, DAL or NJ (IIRC), ATL and SAC last year.

neither are worth the LLE -- when you consider (a) if you use it this summer you can't use it next summer and (b) C's will be in the position to offer it to a guy like Grant Hill, Rasheed Wallace, Iverson, or Kidd to take the least $ for the chance at a ring.  Long shot with all but Hill and maybe Wallace? Yes, but you don't miss the chance by locking up the Immortal Anthony's (johnson and carter).

id still do it if they believe they need a vet backup pg other than house. of the available ones i probably like johnson the most. hes big, he can play defense. hes a good shooter and hes got playoff experience.
