If he does go unrestricted, I see other teams making a better offer to this kid than us.

As someone mentioned earlier, he'll most likely follow the dollar signs.

I think the C's are committed to seeing what they can get out of Pruitt next season.  Add House or whatever vet guard to the backcourt and I just don't see Danny making room for a rehab project at this time.

I think this is similar to the Jay Williams situation.  Teams probably won't throw money at him until they are sure he is healthy and able to play at a high level.  He is going to need to earn his next contract I think, and could very well be in the NBDL for a bit.

Makes sense for Danny's ultimate plan. Control the rights to every player he coveted in the 2004 draft. Adding Livingston and Swift this summer as free agents would be a huge step in the right direction for Danny, I think.

Rob Swift
Al Jefferson
Luke Jackson
Tony Allen
Shaun Livingston

then with Telfair, West, and Justin Reed off the bench for an eight man rotation. Oh my, what could have been. Shame on Danny for giving up on such a future.

Ok, seriously though... If we ended up signing Swift and or Livingston this summer to deals let's say worth about 1.5M each and then they both panned out to maybe half of their potential... How hilarious would that be?

Yeah, we don't have a team.

I was just asking for the sake of the kid getting back on the court against some competition.

Pretty Sick

I just watched that and cringed every time he landed after a dunk or a layup.  I forget the exact game/play that he hurt his knee, so I didn't know if it was included or not.

It is too bad that the Celtics are contenders now and actually need to plan their roster beyond finding young guys and hoping they become stars.  I really like Livingston and hope he recovers and plays to his potential.  It would be fun to see in Boston, but oh well.

On a side note, with the hype and then ultimate disappointment of each of the successive "Magic-like" tall point guards, it just further cements the fact that Magic was so unique.  There have been lots of "next Jordans" but only a few "next Magics" (Penny, Livingston, LeBron, who else?).  I hope this is okay for a Celtics board!
