You heard it here first (ok maybe not, but I am sticking with it). KG is going to have a huge game 6. Here is why:

*playing at home, where he seems more comfotable.
*he is starting to see he is unguardable. he took it to the hole early in game 5 before foul trouble put him on the bench.
*he is adjusting to the competetion. after game 4, he said he might have to play inside more, which he did until the foul trouble. after game 5, he was about as down as I have ever seen him. i believe he refered to his play as "garbage". great players bounce back.
*this crazy plane situation may actually help him. it may allow him to relax and get some good sleep. while i know it is a luxary airplane, there cannot be that much else to do on that plane while they waited.
*while he has had some great moments on O and on D, he has yet to really put his stamp on these finals. Ray Allen left his mark, closing out game 4. pierce has left his in the amazing game 2, and the defesne in game 4. It is time for KG to leave his mark.

He is too good, too consistent to not have a big time game. my prediction? he plays inside more tonioght, gets gasol in foul trouble, and has his best offensive game of the series by far.

if i am right, remember, you heard it here first (even if you didn't). if i am wrong, let's hope the c's win anyway.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
He did it earlier in the playoffs, so there's no reason he can't tonight.  If he takes it to the hoop, and Pierce does the same thing, we'll win this one easily.

We don't even need him to "go off big time". I just want him to not choke and do what he's been doing all year. He's a great player and for this team to close out the Lakers he needs to play well, period.

I hope he has a great game and the Celtics win.  It appears his reputation is at stake.  Anyone reading any of the stuff about KG?  He is getting killed in the press for coming up small in games 3 and 5 offensively.  Skip Bayless (not than anyone cares what he thinks, is now calling him Kevin GarNot) and some even suggested that he is holding Pierce back from winning his first championship.  I heard on WEEI this morning that even Ron Artest is calling KG soft.

I hope KG is reading this stuff and comes out and shuts them all up!

It's moments like in game 5 that makes me think if KG would ever been a championship winning player.  Missing those free throws reminded me a lot of Karl Malone missing two key free throws to the Bulls. The Jazz never recovered from those two miss free throw and Karl Malone never won a championship.  I sure hope as a KG fan and a fan of the Celtics that KG is not a Karl Malone

He should play well. Minus the free throws, he played really well on offense when he actually got to play. He was going down low more than he had all year, and he was scoring. He got hacked a couple of times with no call. I think he'll get those calls this time, plus he won't be under the gun with his own foul trouble. Kenny Mauer shut him down better than any Laker could, and I'm guessing he won't be around for game 6.

Well, at least he has guys like Paul and Ray who know how to step up in big games.  I am hoping that Paul and Ray will carry the team to a win tonight, with much help from KG, of course. ;)

Doesn't Kevin Garnett have a reputation for never sleeping on flights? While also keeping up his teammates with jovial conversation?

Think KG will get any apologies from Vescey? I think we can put all the choking stuff to rest.

He should get apologies from Bill Simmons and his dad first. Simmons has been anti-KG, Doc, and Ray Allen the entire playoffs.

I would love to boot Simmons's phony rear out of Celtic Nation.

Waiting for Simmons, Bayless, Vescey and Whitlock to issue their apologies tomorrow. I think we should all send them a deluge of emails.
