but I guess it was meant to happen in Boston in front of adoring crowd. If that is how Red planned, so let it be.

Last night the Celtics played well overall despite the turnovers (except for KG) and kept coming back. Pierce was masterful like he has been all series long. Posey made all the effort plays and has made a huge fan out of Van Gundy.

I guess all we needed was maybe three possesstions to turn out in favor (translation: commit three fewer turnovers) and we would all be swimming in green champagne and smoking the fat stogie.

I would be shocked if the Celtics did not finish business tomorrow night. Kobe did not sound too confident heading back east of his teams chances. Phil Jackson just smiled for the media.

The Celtics are not that healthy and could be had by a fresher team right now. Tomorrow will be their 26th playoff game of the 2008 campaign and given that you have to put 150% effort into a playoff game over a regular season, the Celtics have played a half a season more than a lottery team.

So we sit on Championship Eve waiting for the day of 6/17/08 to win our 17th Championship to fully restore the best legacy in Sports History.

You always want to finish it ASAP, but the Lakers dd not cooperate by lying down last night.  I think it was the Lakers best 48 minute effort of the series.

I liked the Celts in 6 before the series and I'll be plenty happy with that
Yup

I dont think they played well at all actualy. Ray and kevin were ok, we got almost nothing from our starting PG, and we played the worst excuse for defense ive ever seen in the first quarter.

despite all that, LA barley hung on. Color me unimpressed on the whole.

i actually expected LA to win last night goign away, just because they had the home crowd and odom and gasol play off that so much. going back through all the west coast series, odom is a much, much less effective player on the road. gasol does better but he shrinks too.

Play good defense for 48 tommrow and we win.

And Pierce didn't play last night?

i figured paul would go without saying, but isn't that the entire poitn of this season, one guy can't do it alone?

plus, i expect paul to have another great game, he wants the ring bad.

The only problem I have is I called in sick last night hoping to celebrate the night away.

Now how am I suppose to be sick on a Sunday. Go in to work at 10pm tonight and be perfectly healthy and then sick again Tuesday!  ???

Somehow I see another career coming to an end. It's for the green though so I don't really care it's a crappy job anyway.

Hands off the trophy (as Tommy said after game 4)! It's bad juju to assume victory before the work is finished, no matter how certain victory seems. The biggest upsets make the greatest stories, and the greatest stories are the most surprising! Was there really visible champagne last night? Awful form...

They should know better than that if it's true.

thats common practice by the league, not the celtics...every time a team has a close out chance they get ready in case it happens.

This is very true in fact all day yesterday NBA TV had a marathon of games where the Celtics were beating the Lakers. They showed Game 4 this year. 1963 Series clincher in Game 6 and Game 4 1987.

Its a win win situation for the media and the league. Celtics win and they were prepared and hyped the story. Celtics lose and it's a great game for LA to stave off elimination and do the unthinkable.
