I think one piece of spin we'll see even more of now is Pierce's knee - it seemed like he was 100% tonight and not limited at all by it (think how when chauncy was hurt you could just tell) - I'm not saying I don't think PP hurt himself, I do, but I think it obviously wasn't as bad as we initially thought

On that end, with the c's up about 19 in the 4th, I was very surprised PP came back in, and it turned out he was definitely needed - I thought we might get a TA sighting, but the team lapsed and I'm sure learned a valuable valuable lesson... a win is a win is a win

I don't mind the media spinning this to be a plus for the Lakers. When the series started it bothered me but now it makes me smile because as much as the media is pro-LA, we're still up 2-0

ESPN NEWS is already calling this the Lakers game -- building what they need to win the series.

Yup, first game was "feeling each other out" (Phil, Kobe), second game was building the momentum Lakers wanted..... I guess the Lakers got us right where they want us....  ??? ???

In truth, though (pun intended  ;D ), Celtics still need to learn to play 48 minutes.  This was a problem in Game 1, was clearly a problem in Game 2, and I hope is not a problem in Game 3.....

ESPN is so annoyingly transparent. I call them the Laker or Kobe network during this series.  ::)

Whoever the woman at the ESPN NEWS Desk is, she's horrible.  Greg Anthony is countering her.

PHIL JACKSON IS p---ED AT THE REFS -- HIS PRESS CONFERENCE IS CRAZY........HE'S CALLING OUT THE REFS, SPECIFICALLY FAVORING LEON POWE.

I don't care what the media thinks. For the most part, I don't agree with them. Besides many of them picked the Lakers to win. Right now they look dumb.

I think the last quarter was a positive for this team. If anything, it further developed their mental fortitude as a team in a close game. Granted I would have felt alot better if we had continued to pour it on, but the fact that the Celtics did not wilt and did not allow the Lakers to cut it into a one possession game was at least a positive. At least our defense held.

If anything this game probably will make Celtics focus more. They learned a lesson and did not have to lose a game to do it.

Spin however they want.

C's are up 2-0.

And in my opinion, the C's learned a valuable lesson here, in fact this game was a lot like Game 5 vs. the Pistons.

The C's jumped to a big lead, got complacent and then still did enough to secure the W.  Everyone said that the Pistons would be energized and ready to dominate Game 6.  We all remembered how that turned out.

Each game is a little island unto itself, and the Celtics won this battle.  Let's keep pushing till we win the war.

This is what losers do. This is the kind of the Jacson does that I do not respect at all. Grow up, Phil. You don't hear Doc yelling at refs after the Celtics blew the lead because he and everyone knows that the refs were not the problem. Bet he was very happy with the refs when they made that run. When you get down by 20 or so the refs are not to blame.  ::)

It's paul frickin' pierce. his 17 stab wounds also weren't as bad as initially thought, cause he never missed a game from that. the man is tough.

i think it's finally 100% clear though that he didn't sit out last year from his elbow...pain can't sideline him.

Despite being hurt Chauncey still had 3 huge games in the series out of 6. Pierce hit a lot of three's today, He still may have a tear.

At least the Celtics were classy in not saying that Billips or Rip were 'faking' injuries.

I guess they can spin it that way if they want to totally dismiss what Kareem Abdul Jabar said.  He was at the Garden with Gorman after the game and said that the Lakers can't really take anything away from this game because it was all on the Celtics getting complacent that the Lakers were able to come back.  Kareem said that.  He said it's hard to resist as players being complacent with a big lead.
"If somebody would have told you when he was playing with the Knicks that Nate Robinson was going to change a big time game and he was going to do it mostly because of his defense, somebody would have got slapped."  Mark Jackson

John Barry and Tim Legler, the only ESPN "experts" to pick the C's... Media spin is irrelevant unless it can be used by the team for motivation. They set the C's up as underdogs and I think they play better when they are. In the 2 series where they were supposed to dominate and win on the road, they didn't. Then when they weren't expected to win V Detroit, they won 2. Look for the C's to take at least one of the next 2 and then game 5 should be a classic...
Now, on to 18...
