OK, I am going to get crap for this, but I have to say that although I was the biggest proponent of benching Powe against Detroit...this was the situation against them that I saw him excelling in (as I said in another thread).
The C's already had Detroit's defense on its heals. They were not rotating the way they normally do, and they weren't protecting the rim like they did for much of the series. That is when Powe is at his best. He can use his quickness to sneak the ball up, and continue to attack and keep the defense retreating with his aggressive play.
I stand by my assertions that in some of the previous games, when Detroits defense was controlling the energy of the game, he would have been more of a liability. But he did a great job last night.
I also think that he is going to have a huge series against LA, who are not as aggressive protecting the basket, and who don't move the ball nearly as well on offense.
So bash away.
