I bet that come the nxt game Doc would revert to being Doc again...which means more Cassell off the bench as he is the veteran presence he so love....KG and Pierce perhaps resting in the 4th qtr till there is about 7 min left in the game with the Cavs up by 8......I can see it now in my crystal ball the C's falldown in Cleveland......Hey, we need to keep this blog running with a lot of Doc threads don't we?

Wouldn't surprise me. I'm expecting to be swearing at the TV as well. Since Rondo played so well Doc will probably give extended minutes to Cassell now.

BBD played well, but let's not crown him as the best big off the bench yet. He is 0-4 the rest of this series and looked pretty bad out there until tonight. That was his year all year. He'd come in and look great one game and disappear the next 5. Powe is probably the more consistent one and typically comes up with a big game after BBD does. Look for him to play well also in Cleveland. I sure hope BBD can string a few together though. We could use that against them.
EJ,last night,i had a flashback of a regular season game aganist Detroit, when BBD came in the game, played in rhythm with the starters, gave us a lift, when we needed it.The timing was right, and similar to that game aganist Detroit.

Oh, I agree 100% with that. That was by far the best game of his young career. The issue is with people taking a few minutes in this game where he put back a couple nice buckets at a key time and stating that he should be getting huge minutes. We forget the 2 free throws he missed, the 1 rebound he had in 12 minutes, and the fumbled away easy layup he should have had on a nice dish from Ray. This board goes to such huge extremes over one game or even just a few minutes like this and wants Doc to dramatically change the lineup over it. BBD is terribly inconsistent and if you look at this year, it is much more likely that he will have 3-4 more bad stretches before he will have a good one again. I think in 1-2 years this will be solved, but right now it is a huge risk to take with so much on the line. Powe is a more consistent option off the bench. Both of them have trouble against a team with truly big "bigs". I think games 6 and 7(hopefully not) we need to tighten this rotation down and KG needs to play 40+ and Perkins should play 38+ as well as long as he isn't in foul trouble. It's time to step it up starters and stay in the game.

Even though the roll of the dice turned out well, it seems ridiculous, based on all of the data from the regular season and the rest of the playoffs, to play BBD over Powe.

Except for one game, Powe has not been good or consistent this series. The last two games of 10 minutes, 2 points and 1 rebound and then a bunch of zeroes and bad defense are probably the reason Doc went with Baby in the fourth of both games.

I'm a huge Powe fan.  Love the guy.  Can't wait to see him locked up longer term.

But the Cavs are an enormous team.  A bunch of giants.  Big Baby has gotta be the choice and we gotta pray he plays his energetic best.......We need you, Big Baby!!  To spell both Garnett and Perk!!

Great game, Doc!!

I still think the Celtics should try starting a road game with their best defensive team on the floor......or give the best defensive group more minutes.  This season was built on defense and we're playing with fire when we go too many minutes with Ray or Cassell.....
