DeMar Derozan is reportedly going to be waived and stretched.
Lakers or Heat

My reaction too.

Maybe the Clippers as well. DeRozan at SF & Kawhi at PF. Garland at PG. They take that draft pick Mikel Brown Jr at SG. Mathurin off the bench. Interesting fit for DeRozan.

I don't think DeRozan fits the Lakers well. Luka & A Reaves need shooters around them. Not DeRozan's MO.

DeRozan's $25.74 million expiring contract is only guaranteed for $10 million

Ah, so that is why SAC is waiving him.

In addition to moving up five spots into the late first round of the draft, another factor in the decision to trade Nic Claxton was the opportunity to free up more playing time for center Day?Ron Sharpe, sources told HoopsHype.

Sharpe, the longest-tenured Net going into his sixth season at just 24 years old, impressed Nets brass last season and was lauded by coach Jordi Fernandez for his rebounding prowess. Sharpe is currently penciled in as Brooklyn?s starting center.

Well, there goes any chance of prying Day'Ron Sharpe away in a trade.

Will the Pistons make another run at Herro, who?s currently set to join his hometown Bucks? Or will Detroit attempt to pivot by making a run at Norman Powell in free agency or via trade for Trey Murphy III, whom they?ve expressed interest in?

If any deal with Detroit ever came to fruition, expect Pelicans executive Troy Weaver to insist on reuniting with Stewart, one of his favorite players from his Pistons tenure.

That is interesting. Isaiah Stewart would be a good fit for NOP. An upgrade over Missi as the backup center who they do not seem particularly invested in. And capable of playing PF as cover for Zion. Can play PF alongside D Queen at center and help shore up their defense some. Queen needs all the help he can get.

There's one positive from this failed trade for Giannis. Brad showed he's not going to move him out of desperation and what kind of players he think he's worth trading for.
If we do end up trading him, I think many here may not miss the L from last night. There's a good chance this works out better long-term for us.

After 14 years in the NBA, Jonas Valanciunas is set to return to Europe and commit to Zalgiris Kaunas, according to BasketNews sources.

The Lithuanian center has committed to a two-year deal with Zalgiris if he secures a release from his NBA contract with the Denver Nuggets.

Those slow footed centers aren't doing well anymore in those backup center roles. Most teams want a quick switchable defender off their bench.

It feels like they [slow footed backup centers] are getting pushed out of the league now.

Yeah but now Brad has to do damage control and knowing Brown he probably can't handle it as a professional and may demand out.

I don't blame him though. If you were about to get traded and it backfired then I would be upset about getting traded
