I was able to settle in and watch the first half with full attention.  I first action that I have had a chance to watch.  I am always disappointed with Summer League.  I don't know why I keep expecting anything more.

Amari Williams moves well, make some nice passes, even dribbles up the floor well.  But then other times he looks like he forgot what he is supposed to do.  I am still good with him.  I think he will be an OK bench big by the start of 2026 season.  Hugo Gonzalez looks good to me, but raw.  He may need more than one full season cycle to be ready for the NBA, even as a bench player, but I like him as a prospect.  And Miles Norris will likely see minutes at PF this season.  I am not sure how much ceiling he has left.

Walsh and Scheierman are questions also.  Walsh continues to be what he has been all along.  Scheierman is struggling against Summer League competition.  I am not feeling great about the NBA future of either.  I don't expect to see any of the others beyond Summer League.

We need production from our bigs - why not Kenny Lofton Jr.?

Imagine rotating between Garza, Niang, and Lofton as our bigs. We'd have the most disgusting, productive, and annoying-to-play-against set of bigs in the NBA.

I have to say Lofton does not look like an NBA player to me.  He's like the lite version of Jared Sullinger and I don't mean his weight.

Well, Lofton did score 42pts in an NBA game before. He has talent, but needs to lose about 30 pounds. He is only 22 years old.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Nice summary. And glad to read opinions not tainted by green colored glasses. For some reason I think Schierman will have a Hauser type NBA career, but that?s based on his performance during the season last year, not on his summer league play. I think he tries to do too much in summer league and takes to many bad shots.

He'll need to learn how to play defense if he wants a Hauser like career.
ok fine

Baylor was very very poor the entire summer league. He has a long way to go on both ends to be a consistent contributor.

Fixed it.  :D

I don't remember his game from back in 2022-23 but the player I watched last night is not going to be playing meaningful minutes in the NBA anytime soon.  He measured 6'-5.5" and 280 lbs coming out of college back in 2022, and the pictures of him show his as very doughy.  Not much has changed.  Good wingspan (6'-11"), so can probably play bigger.  I guess I could see him winning a 2-way spot over Shugla or Norris  (Norris has a 7'-1" wingspan).
