Of course we are spoiled, We are fans of the Boston Celtics, the most successful and storied franchise in professional basketball.
Just like fans of the Yankees, Packers, Canadians, Notre Dame & Alabama Football, etc., etc.
I'm a Celtic fan since the 60's and quite happy to be spoiled.
BTW, the Celtics have also had the most misfortune, by far, of any other franchise in the NBA since the 1986 title.
I don?t disagree with you, but I think it feels worse because it happened to Our team.
When I heard the news about Len Bias. I was early in my career, feeling on top of the world with such a great night before, we had just picked Bias, then later that morning I heard the news on the radio, it was and still is devastating. I worked with ESPN, over 30 years, we worked on more tragic features than I can count!
I am not trying to be Grimm, the world is not fair and often tragic. 2016 - Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez died in a boating accident, so horrible. Munich Massacre at the 1972 Olympics, 2001 Dale Earnhardt, Lou Gehrig, The year I was born, the whole The 1961 U.S. Figure Skating team died in a plane crash. Obviously, I could sadly go on and on. So many people are upset that the Celtic didn't have a Dynasty with KG, PP, RA, but, they were only together 6 years only went to the finals twice! (1) NBA Title, But, they Got it done! I don't think that is a let down, compare that to the Lakers and the Logo. Jerry West Went to the finals 9 Times!! He only has 1 Finals Victory, 1. There are few teams that have had the success the Celtics have had. Sadly, as we saw last week in Texas, tragedy happens, it is Not just a part of sports, it is unfortunately a part of life.
