Colbert's last show will be May 2026.  Apparently the show is just ending, there will be no replacement.  Colbert was visibly shocked when he shared the news with his audience.

I was a huge Colbert Report fan. I still believe it was one of the greatest comedy shows of all time (even outside the political sphere). But I have only watched a few episodes of his late night show. It is so bland and cringeworthy, I am not too shocked it has been canceled.

I wished Stephen had taken The Colbert Report to HBO when John Oliver debuted Last Week Tonight.

I too enjoyed his Comedy Central show and was shocked when his late night show was something totally different. I thought it was just me reaching my "Get off my lawn" phase.
ok fine

Unfortunately, network TV is dying a slow death.

The next set of NFL rights could very well speed up that death.
