Kings probably won't but I'd love to see if you can flip KP, PP, Scheierman, a bunch of picks for Sabonis.

If not, maybe see if a deal is possible with Memphis where we trade KP or Jrue and in the package back we get Aldama + some other assets. MEM could be in "win now" mode with JJJ/Bane/Morant and could seek another piece if they can't land Durant or anyone else.

I'm perfectly happy with our backup centers and I'd like to keep KP on the shelf until playoff time every year.

Win it all again, run it back again!

Otherwise, Jrue for Isiah Stewart.

I would do that deal in a heartbeat. We need a young big man, and an enforcer mentality. Guy who will throw elbows at people and bully other players on the floor. Get physical.

Why would we do PP and KP and a bunch of picks for Sabonis? That is a terrible deal.

Porzingis is amazing and fits perfectly with our team, we are lucky to have him.

In saying all that, he has played 32 games so far and will be 30 this year. Given his long injury history, the Celtics will always need to rely heavily on our backup centres to compete for titles and Horford may retire at seasons end.

Can the Celtics really rely on Kornet? Given our bloated salary cap situation, I cannot see a way to replace Horford.

Any ideas?

I realize this is not an official news source, but would be surprised if Horford retired after this season:

Taking that into account, the Florida product's mother, Arelis Reynoso, recently opened up about the prospects of her son retiring once the campaign concludes:

"I think he's not ready to say, ?Oh, I don't want to play anymore.' I think he can keep going. And I think it's great, and it's special for the league, for everybody who really loves basketball - because his spirit and the vibe he has inspired too many players. He's not done. There's too many good things upcoming," Reynoso said, per Noah Dalzell of SB Nation's Celtics Blog.
