60-22, first in the east. +9 point differential. So slightly worst record and differential wise from last year mostly becasue i think they'll take the regular season a little easier. nothing left to prove in the regualr season.

Jaylen is going to miss several weeks with injury, White gets a concussion, add in Porzingis injury and load management for Horford, Jrue and a bit for Tatum. This will cause generous use of our deeper bench, fan consternation (blame falling on Joe which he will absorb and relish) and a 52-30 record.

We?ll be able to eke out the 3rd seed with the Bucks then Knicks ahead of us. Followed closely by the surging Cavs and Pacers, then the injury riddled 76ers, Orlando and Atlanta. Heat and Raptors knocked out during play-in.

60-22, 1 seed in East by 4 games over NY who is the 2 seed

Boston, New York, Philly, Toronto, Brooklyn

Boston > 1st round opponent in 5
Boston > Milwaukee/Indiana in 5
Boston > New York in 6 games
Boston > Oklahoma City in a close 6 games with some nail-biters

Banner 19

That's true, too, if these guys get injured we are screwed. Could also look like a 2010-esque run if we wanna preserve health for playoffs and omit home-court advantage.

Celtics win 60 games, finish #2 in the East (the Knicks win 62). The Celtics beat the Knicks in the ECF and repeat as champions.

97-1 with a regular season loss to Detroit where @Sparz declares we're doomed

That's what happens when you have a second-rate coach.  Honestly, anyone that knows what they're doing should be able to get to 98 easily.

I am a bit superstitious about making highly specific predictions, but I will go on the record with some general ones:

The Celtics are and will be the team to beat

Philly will not hold up, injuries will haunt them

The Knicks will be good, not great, too many new pieces, still a tough out in the playoffs though

The Cavs will be better than people think.  I have no concerns about Garland and Mitchell playing together, they just need to stay healthy.

Alright, I think right now is a good half-way mark to revisit this.

VG is a god with this prediction. Totally right about the 76ers not holding up. Knicks? Yeah they're good "not great", but will be a difficult team to face in the postseason. Typically how a #2 or #3 seed should be. And Cavs surprised me whom I thought would be a 7-seed, they are now def the team to beat in the East.

Surprised you didn't mention anything about this. Must have been a difficult day for you yesterday with all the gloating after the Fakers won

For the record, I agree with VG's predictions as well - including the Cs being the team to beat. The Cavs will probably finish with a better regular season record, as will OKC. But unlike European soccer, the winner of the championship isn't the team that has the most wins after the end of the regular season, it's the team that can win 4 playoff rounds. The Cs have been up and down at various times this year but as long as we aren't crippled by injuries I would still back them to beat any team in the league 4 times out of 7. TThe difference is most of the games will probably go to 6 or 7 this year as opposed to last year.
