Remember when Reggie Lewis died and the NBA gave us no salary relief?

"When Boston Celtics star Reggie Lewis died unexpectedly in July 1993, the NBA Board of Governors denied the franchise's request for salary cap relief, forcing his $3.3 million guaranteed salary to remain on the Celtics' cap for two years"

[RMO]

After the vote denying the salary cap relief, apparently Jerry Colangelo (Suns owner) walking out of the meeting said to a Celtics representative something like don't take this personally, this isn't about green, it's about Red.

Is that what started that Suns curse or was it when we beat them in the finals?

What started the Suns curse was Colangelo losing the Kareem coin flip.

I still feel anger over this and it reinforced my opinion that many league people hate Boston.
